(December 22, 2006) -- Mike Evans, best known for his role as Lionel Jefferson in 70's sitcoms, "All In he Family," and its spin-off, "The Jeffersons," died peacefully with family, on December 14, 2006 after a battle with throat cancer, said his niece Dr. Chrystal Evans. He was 57. Evans was also co-creator of iconic 70's sitcom "Good Times," he had acting roles in some of the most prolific shows of the 1970's including "All in the Family," "Rich Man, Poor Man," "Match Game." And "The Richard Prayer Special". Evans' big screen appearances include "The Voyage of the Yes," where he co-starred with Desi Arnez, Jr. More recently, he appeared in "Walker, Texas Ranger". Eric Monte, co-creator of Good Times, said of Evans, "I am deeply and profoundly indebted to Mike. He changed my life forever and inadvertently changed television. There would be no, "Sanford and Sons," "Good Times," "The Jeffersons," "What's Happening," "The Cosby Show," or "Cooley High," if it had not been for him. More importantly, he was a good friend. I will miss him." Evans is survived by daughter Tammy, his mother, Annie Sue, his brother Thomas, cousin Harold, and his niece, Chrystal. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 23 Dec 2006 13:01:39 +0000 From: hssmrg@bath.ac.uk Subject: Re: fegmaniax-digest V15 #308 Quoting fegmaniax-digest : > > Date: Fri, 22 Dec 2006 20:23:08 +1300 > From: grutness@slingshot.co.nz > Subject: Condiments of the seasoning! > Here's wishing all fegs the compliments of the season. I think that the point is that it was _filmed_ live. Mind you, with all that Japanese commentary and _no more than 5 tentacles on view_ I suspect that it may have been an outtake from a new Gojira film... - - Mike "Little Portly" Godwin n.p. Does anyone know of anything (like, say, a Firefox extension) that prevents websites from playing sound but does not mute sound in other applications - i.e., I can be listening to iTunes, browse the web, and not have my ears blasted off by some idiot's sound-enhanced website that I happen upon? Best situation would be something that informs me that there's a soundtrack so I can have the choice of unmuting the sound... - -- ...Jeff Norman The Architectural Dance Society http://spanghew.blogspot.com ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 23 Dec 2006 19:09:03 -0500 From: "Lauren Elizabeth (gmail)" Subject: Re: och! my ears! I haven't checked into one to block sound, but I love blocking flash any time there is an opportunity: http://flashblock.mozdev.org/installation1.html For starters, it quiets all the "new talent" on MySpace. xo Lauren - -- - ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "People with opinions just go around bothering one another." - The Buddha ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 24 Dec 2006 03:03:37 -0800 From: Carrie Galbraith Subject: Hollydaze and the rest Dear Fegs, As James and Mr. Godwin said - my best to you all in this holiday season, whatever your preference and wherever you may be located.
