Of more interest is a page and a half article which has a little more info regarding the second LP that they recorded earlier this year. It was mostly recorded live in Robyn's house and ex Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr wrote a song for them! The photos also show Nick (Cruel to be Kind)Lowe singing backing vocals. - ----- End forwarded message ----- ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 23 Oct 2006 08:13:23 -0700 From: "Spotted Eagle Ray" Subject: Re: Robyn in Word Magazine On 10/23/06, wojbearpig wrote: > > ----- Forwarded message from Colin ----- > > Of more interest is a page and a half article which has a little more > info regarding the second LP that they recorded earlier this year. Had we heard anything about this before? Damn, that's good news. Except for the Johnny Marr thing, which could go either way depending on whether he or Robyn did the lyrics. Is this to be a Yep Roc release, Editions Paf! or, or what? I had been pretty burnt out on Robyn's semi-official releases and "companion albums", but I'm excited about this. - -SER ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 23 Oct 2006 11:21:21 -0500 From: "Michael Wells" Subject: concert reccy? I'm seriously considering picking up a late ticket to see Lindsay Buckingham, but haven't heard any of the new stuff. Anyone got a line on this, or seen him recently? Supposedly it is acoustic-based, which would be a welcome change from the "wearing-eyeliner-and-passing-off-recordings-of-insects-having-sex-as-mu sic" days. Plus he's something of a guitar idol for me, but the tickets are pretty expensive and I'd rather know what I'm getting into. He's going kinda fast. I suspect special effects...or performance-enhancers. - -- - ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "People with opinions just go around bothering one another." - The Buddha ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 23 Oct 2006 19:12:29 -0400 From: wojbearpig Subject: NEW on DIME: The Soft Boys - 2002-10-27 - The Mercury Lounge, New York City (MD AUD) http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=118023&hit=1 - ----- Forwarded message from DIME ----- A new torrent has been uploaded to DIME. Fortunately, Ferris' worked fine, so the encores are from his recording. I just found a great fare from New York, and I'd love to see Robyn's Syd Barrett tribute. I'm a very trustworthy person, and I'd post the money to you right away. If anyone can help, would you please contact me off-list? Many thanks, Mary Tired of spam? Yahoo!
