A lot of time could have been saved had they realized that no self respecting Indian would knowingly give, or sell, an eagle feather to a white man these days. Eagle feathers are very sacred objects, and extremely difficult to obtain. BTW, be on guard for those who claim to have eagle feathers. They will also usually turn out to be "dyed chicken feathers".
