If you go over to the Decs boards, you will see the original post that Colin sent out to everyone, the fact it has had over 3000 hits, and that over 100 people have been arguing about it ever since. Well, that and the fact that Colin announced that he is a dad-to-be (which I figured out in August, but that's another story). What do I think? I'll let you know when the next album comes out. The fact that I'm seeing Colin in 11 days and Belle and Sebastian quite soon as well is not doing anything for my wounded soul as the Patriots handed the game to Denver last night. At least I won't be stressed and drinking straight vodka on Super Bowl Sunday. I'm feeling sorry for Tony Dungy at the moment. If you don't know anything about football, now you know what it is like when I read post after post about bands that I have never heard of. Go Steelers. Colin Newman - A-Z Maybe I should get Wire - 154 next. Does the box set of Pink Flag/Chairs Missing/154 have improved sound over the single issue discs? I have PF and CM, and I noticed 154 is out of print, although I see some used copies are floating about. Michael B. Saw "Crash" over the weekend. Very good film. Reminded me of "Magnolia," minus the self-conscious artiness. I've had 154 for like 17 years and still don't have any of the solo Colin Newman records (they're high on my wish list, though). - -Rx ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 16 Jan 2006 17:10:56 -0500 From: wojizzle forizzle Subject: NEW on DIME: Katrina And The Waves -- Houston 6.13.85 http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=78267&hit=1 - ----- Forwarded message from DIME ----- A new torrent has been uploaded to DIME. Just downloaded this off eMusic along with Hugh Cornwell's "Beyond Elysian Fields". Quite the duo. > > Saw "Crash" over the weekend. Very good film. You're obviously not referring to David Cronenberg's "Crash", about the car accident fetishists. > reap: David and Michelle Didn't expect David's assassination but as soon as Michelle left the house I said "she's dead." I am totally loving Chloe's strength and toughness - I hope they don't 86 her this season too! - -tc ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 16 Jan 2006 21:02:14 -0800 From: "michael wells" Subject: viddy well... It looks like a couple of the classics are getting freshly abused. Some trailers: http://www.beowulf-movie.com/ Beowulf & Grendel - funny, I always pictured Grendel as being, well, bigger. And maybe having more arms and stuff. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/10004209-tristan_and_isolde/trailers.php Tristan and Isolde - This really looks dodgy. Anyone seen it yet? http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6482189053676903402 &q=transformers Transformers - w00t! And apparently Sam Raimi's next gig is taking on Terry Pratchett. Funnily enough, I think that will be a good thing.
