I unloaded mine on eBay for a cool price, $70 I believe. It was actually my second copy -- the first was stolen, so I walked to the local used CD store and picked up another for, yeah you guessed it, a buck. But I believed I ripped the CD before I sold it -- email me offlist and we'll work a trade. I wonder if that Scott Miller on Enigma LP I have is worth anything. Doubt it's worth as much as my Klark Kent CD, however. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 13 Jan 2006 17:04:19 +0100 From: Sebastian Hagedorn Subject: RE: Lolita Nation - --On 13. Game Theory / Loud Family / Scott Miller have been much (and contentiously) discussed on the feglist. Lots of us around here are big fans... everything is worth hearing... at least I think it will be for Nuppy, knowing his tastes. Starting with Lolita Nation is starting with a high water mark-- it was one of my later acquisitions, due to its rarity-- but you've got some good listening ahead of you. Brian, I have a CD copy, but my home CD burner is down and I won't be able to burn one elsewhere for a little over a week... but if nobody fills your order before then, let me know (I owe you already). My CD copy ran me $15, which is steep for where I found it (used bin at a Wherehouse) but a steal by any other measure. Amazingly to me, I found an LP copy of LN at a new-ish record store in my tiny WV hometown a year ago, and bought it for a buck, just because. Weird little store... the owner does most of his business online, and has somewhat of a specialty in oddball mentally-whacked-out artists (not including Scott Miller, of whom he'd never heard). He recommended a reissue of a mid-70's release by a guy named Marlin Wallace who believed that communists were controlling him with laser beams. It was pretty strange all right, but not incredibly compelling. - -Rex ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 13 Jan 2006 10:22:12 -0600 From: 2fs Subject: Re: Lolita Nation On 1/13/06, Bachman, Michael wrote: > Sebastian Hagedorn wrote: > >I'd settle for a MP3 rip or whatever. > > >Last year I got my first Loud Family CD and while I wouldn't say I'm a > >convert now it makes me curious enough to be very interested in his/their > >earlier stuff. > > Plants and Birds and Rocks and Things by the Loud Family is one of my favorite's > from 1993. It's well worth picking up. I don't have any other LF's though. I forgot to mention: Scott Miller (Loud Family/Game Theory singer/songwriter/guitarer) is working on a new Loud Family CD (his first in five years) in collaboration with a favorite of some of us here, Anton Barbeau. There's an mp3 of their cover of the Rolling Stones' "Rocks Off" at that 125 Records site (www.125records.com). - -- ...Jeff Norman The Architectural Dance Society http://spanghew.blogspot.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 13 Jan 2006 12:53:44 -0800 From: Eb Subject: Re: Lolita Nation Gene Hopstetter Jr. wrote: >> Wow this baby goes for megabucks on cd! Don't remind me. By any stretch of rational logic, I should sell this since its monetary worth is far more than its personal worth to me. I also have that promotional "Never Mind the Camera Crew, Here's the Loud Family" cassette, though I doubt it's all that valuable. Especially since it's downloadable from the LF website. > I wonder if that Scott Miller on Enigma LP I have is worth anything. Huh? What's that? I wonder how much my copy of the "ALRN" album is worth. I *don't* really want that one.... The 8-10 p.m. edition could be the final airing of the comedy from 20th Century Fox Television and Imagine TV on Fox, where it continued to under-perform as the 8 p.m. lead-in on Monday nights last fall. Both ABC and Showtime have reportedly expressed interest in picking it up. Judge Reinhold will guest star. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 14 Jan 2006 00:10:23 -0800 (PST) From: Jeff Dwarf Subject: Chappelle's Show Comes Alive!!! http://deseretnews.com/dn/view/0,1249,635175667,00.html "A severed foot is the ultimate stocking stuffer." -- Mitch Hedberg "Now I am going to tell you how we are not going to fight communism.
