I particularly liked this: "Hitchcock has clabbed with cinner blower Jonathan Demme on two projects: barn cinner Storefront Hitchcock (1998) and 2004 sheeter of The Manchurian Candidate, in which Hitchcock portrayed double-agent Laurent Tokar." The voice is still there but the guitar playing has been pretty well shot to pieces. I was very excited when Pete formed the Splinter Group and I have been to see them 3 times, but the magic has essentially gone, though he still shows occasional flashes of brilliance. > I would like to see an original Fleetwood Mac reunion with Green, Kirwin, > Spencer, Fleetwood and McVie, but I doubt that it would ever happen. > Is Jeremy still living with that cult group The Children Of God? Well, another coincidence. The Independent reported quite recently that Jerry's children (real children, not the 'Of God' type) have an album out, and Jerry has disowned it because there is a track called something like "I don't believe in God". But the photo they had of Jerry looked to me like one taken in 1967 or 1968 - definitely not a contemporary pic. Fleetwood I think is always up for a reunion - I take it you heard the version of 'Rattlesnake Shake' done in Nigeria or somewhere during the late 70s - but Kirwan was last heard of (by me) in a down and outs hostel in Kings Cross, completely wrecked. - - Mike Godwin (who saw Fleetwood Mac before McVie joined, after McVie joined, and Kirwan's first two performances with the band). n.p. I just have to tell you that I have a new kind of fluttering in my heart and it's for the man with the black guitar [clever reference #1]. His band of minstrels took the stage at the University Saturday night and they took my heart as well. I took my young son Gabriel with me because he is a self-confessed fan of "Robert Hedgehog" (at 8 he has remarkably good taste in music-- Robyn, TMBG, Pokemon, Fountains of Wayne, New Pornographers, Beatles, XTC, Decemberists, etc) and he thoroughly enjoyed "the rock n roll." There were 2 Hitchcock covers in the set, and, I have to say, the reason for all this fluttering is the full-band arrangement of Sweet Ghost Of Light. What sweet harmonicas! What delicious slide guitar! You can check out my blog if you want to see more, Diary. There's video clips there. http://www.everythingnotrelated.com/ Christopher PS Brian isn't bald after all [clever reference #2]. PPS Gabe doesn't know that the name of the band is the New Pornographers. We'll deal with that later... ------------------------------ End of fegmaniax-digest V14 #271 ********************************
