And mocking Cheney for telling Sen. Leahy to go fuck himself last summer. I love that it was "go fuck yourself, Mr. Cheney," that he managed to be both insulting and formal. And it's not like this administration understands or respects reasoned debate or dissent. They're just so vain, they probably think disagreement's about them, as old whatshername once said. > Once again, this administration is utterly incapable of > distinguishing between someone who disagrees with them > and someone who is a threat. In Bushworld, the two are > exactly equivalent - and that is (a large > part of) the problem. Well, it's a far worse crime in their minds to embarrass one of them than to greatly harm someone else. The whole whining about people playing (telling choice of verb) "the blame game," as if asking about who is be responsbile for the various failures in responding to this disaster is a game. I've always said that what was wrong with Bush had nothing to do with his (alleged, or maybe I should say counterfeit) conservatism. The problem is that he is a narcissist of the worst degree; he thinks God chose him to be president fer Christ's sake. He is, and always has been, his mother's son. Um, if this is meant as sarcasm, then perhaps you should realize that the man is, in fact, quoting Mr. Cheney's comments in the senate. So Cheney would be the one to deride for the poor choice of words. I'm luck in that my family are reported all alive and well - though somewhat scattered and with some homes destroyed. I hope to fly out there soon to help them with recovery. Who would have thought that the first email I've received organising support for the New Orleans victims would come through my connection with fellow admirers of Robyn Hitchcock! My thanks to Kris Kristensen for organising this. Bless you all. From: Kris Kristensen Dear Friends of Scotopia, Once again disaster strikes, and we try as best we can to come to the rescue. Due to the huge success we had with our Tsunami Relief efforts in January, we're going to try this again. Beginning at noon PST - Tuesday Sept. 6 (aka Today) you can bid on the following items: DVD - ELIXIRS & REMEDIES An autographed copy of the concert film ELIXIRS & REMEDIES, signed by both of its leading men; Robyn Hitchcock and Grant Lee Phillips.
