From: Kris Kristensen Dear Friends of Scotopia, Once again disaster strikes, and we try as best we can to come to the rescue. Due to the huge success we had with our Tsunami Relief efforts in January, we're going to try this again. In the wake of Hurricane Katrina we have put two items up for bid at E-bay. 100% of all proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross. Beginning at noon PST - Tuesday Sept. 6 (aka Today) you can bid on the following items: DVD - ELIXIRS & REMEDIES An autographed copy of the concert film ELIXIRS & REMEDIES, signed by both of its leading men; Robyn Hitchcock and Grant Lee Phillips. Not only is the music put out by these fine gentlemen easy on the ears, but the witty banter between songs will promise you washboard abs from laughing so hard. http://cgi.ebay.com:80/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6430535308 DVD - INHERITANCE An autographed copy of the supernatural-thriller INHERITANCE signed by Jen Taylor (aka HALO and HALO 2's Cortana) as well as myself and other members of the cast and crew. INHERITANCE is the chilling tale of a young woman struggling to retain control of her identity which she believes is being possessed by the spirit of her dead benefactress. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6430537605 If you already own one one of these two gems, we encourage you to make a donation to the American Red Cross (http://www.redcross.org/) or the charity of your choice. Wherever you are, we hope that you find yourself safe and well. - -- Kris Kristensen Scotopia Pictures e: kris@scotopiapictures.com http://www.scotopiapictures.com - ----- End forwarded message ----- ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 6 Sep 2005 12:07:43 -0700 From: Eb Subject: Reap Bob Denver! I don't know how she found out, but she does work in the legal profession--not eating babies herself, but aiding those who do--so she might have access to some sort of |ber news feed I'm unaware of. > I believe the acting world can survive Denver's loss, but I'll miss > hearing new albums from his "Iggy Pop" alterego. Bob Denver and James Osterberg look about as much alike as, say, Robert Smith and Matthew Sweet. If that doesn't convince you, just recall Denver's persona and then note the name of "Iggy's" first solo album. I've never really seen the latter -- it's most notable these days for one of the other actors is now an openly lesbian California Assemblywoman (Sheila Kuehl) and for also featuring a young Tuesday Weld and Warren Beatty. Giligan's Island though...I (along with pretty much anyone else in their early 30s) must have seen every episode myriad times in reruns when I was a kid. Campy and actually kinda lame when you look back at it. But Ginger and Mary Ann provided early, erm, behavior models for all young boys to contemplate. Mary Ann, all the way. Or kinda lame back then, too. ;) Even when I was a widdle kid, I never liked Gilligan's Island much. And now that some of its reruns have what's arguably THE worst colorization job in the history of the process....
