I dunno...maybe I feel like Art's just begging for ridicule, any time he pokes his head above ground. Speaking of rushing waters, I recently watched "Up the Creek" (1984) out of perverse curiosity, and it was probably one of the worst films I've ever seen. Oof. True story, except for the bit about "shooting the shoots". Norman McLean's novelette about his family from which the movie was based on is a great read. I either saw that, or saw *most* of it. And was really bored. I'll stick with Deliverance! I liked Quiz Show, but otherwise Robert Redford is a pretty tedious director for me. Overlong, too pious, too "epic." I remember thinking The Horse Whisperer was just *absurdly* long for its story requirements. Is this really the time to be (re-)inflicting more people called Bush on the psyche of the western world? Oh well, at least it's not Gavin Rossdale et al. I think the point is, as he says on the website, these are performed entirely by him with one keyboard (not, obviously, all at once!). But yeah - they're pretty good, although because they're *so* faithful, not all that interesting either. Probably a more interesting exercise for the guy, to transcribe all the parts and learn to play and sing them, than for the listener (who just hears, oh, this sounds exactly like the original except different singer and those aren't real acoustic instruments...) - -- ...Jeff The Architectural Dance Society http://spanghew.blogspot.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 31 Aug 2005 13:50:18 -0400 From: "Stewart C.
