I do have a recording of Don Ho covering "Shock The Monkey", which is pretty classic in it's own way. Stewart said: >I'd agree. The Jam do a nice version of it, too. Later, Marc There should be a detective show called "Johnny Monkey," because every week you could have a guy say "I ain't gonna get caught by no MONKEY," but then he would, and I don't think I'd ever get tired of that. He's scheduled to play during John Brion's show on August 26th and open for Grant Lee Phillips on August 27th. Later, Marc Children need encouragement. So if a kid gets an answer right, tell him it was a lucky guess. That way, he develops a good, lucky feeling. I could see this phenomenon if this was a Rush list, an XTC list, etc....but Robyn Hitchcock? "Anal-retentive" is NOT an adjective which I would attach to RH's music.... Phooey. CD of the day: Of Montreal/Then Who Will Protect Big Oil, Our Children? Sounds like the slipslod collection it was conceived to be. Worth having for about five tracks (I especially like "Friends of Mine" and the song with the huge title), but I wouldn't care if some of those under-two-minute songs had been scrapped. Movie of the day: "My Name Is Nobody." Wow, I totally loved this. Should have seen it years ago. "Not Sergio Leone, but an incredible simulation...." Or are you a fan of that musician Robin Hitchcock, who wrote that song "Ballon Man"? And it doesn't irk you if people spell your surname "Broom"? I'm just observing that most people get the title wrong. (And if I were really a grammar cop, I wouldn't have said "plural possessive" - since it isn't necessarily, but could be "Nut Gone Flake" produced by someone named Ogdens, with an s - as opposed to the rather-less-likely more-than-one Ogden.) But hey. The list is about what the people on the list talk about. Anime film doesn't have much to do with Robyn's music either, nor does talking about computing platforms (or running diaries).
