Well, if that's not my cue to enter and make an announcement, I don't know what is... The People's Tongue has recently finished up their second album, a faithful song-by-song tribute to the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. As you might recall (no, you won't...don't try), their first album was a triple LP, 23 versions of "Speedwalk Fantasy" which, in the opinion of many (well, two) is the greatest pop song ever penned. http://tptsnf.blogspot.com/ There, you can find the entire album for your downloading pleasure. There is also a link to the old "Speedwalk Fantasy" page where those tracks can be downloaded. Why do I bring it up? Well, the canned ham reminded me of it. There's a honey-baked ham reference on The People's Tongue version of "Jive Talkin'". Honey-baked ham is a recurring theme apparently since it was mentioned in no less than two Speedwalk Fantasies. And Robyn? Well, a Robyn Hitchcock sample did find its way into the 18 minute version of "Open Sesame" which was pushed into "bonus material" status. It's not available for download. Enjoy! And please leave feedback. The People's Tongue would really appreciate it. - --Perry Como's aunt - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger! I used to think the Damned did a song called "Smash Shit Up", at least that's how it sounded when I first heard it. I was surprised to hear it on the radio later, but a bit disappointed to find out the title is "Smash It Up". My favorite misheard lyrics off the top of my head: "Once upon a time, you dressed so fine. Did the bump and grind in your prime, didn't you?..." Guess I need to go clean out the ears. Later, Marc I think a good scene in a movie would be where one scientist tells another scientist, "You know what will save the world? You're holding it in your hand." And the other scientist looks, and in his hand are peanuts. Then when he looks up, the first scientist is being taken away to the insane asylum.--- Jack Handey ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 8 Jul 2005 18:45:42 -0500 From: Steve Schiavo Subject: Fwd: Andy Partridge Interview Airs This Saturday, July 9, on a Special Two-Hour Pure Pop Radio Show Begin forwarded message: > I'm thrilled to announce that my exhaustive, two-hour interview > with XTC's > Andy Partridge will air this coming Saturday, July 9, from 12-2 pm > EST on my > Pure Pop radio show.
