I've been a Robyn/Soft Boys fan since I first heard Underwater Moonlight back in 1980 although I kind of lost touch sometime after Respect (partly due to my slowness in embracing the CD revolution and partly due to other factors). Since seeing the Soft Boys reunion in 2001 and coming online about 2 years ago (notice a technophobic pattern emerging?), my love of the Sacred Crab has been rekindled and I've been catching up with a gleeful vengance! Apart from Robyn, I'm into 60s garage punk, UK and US psychedelia, classic blues, the Flamin' Groovies, Elvis Costello and have recently developed a belated taste for 60s soul (to mention but a few - it might be easier to list what I don't like!). I'm also over-fond of exclamation marks (!) The boring stuff is I'm 42, male and live in the UK (you guessed? But how?!?). I've been reading the posts on Fegmaniax for the last few days and am glad I've finally joined the party! All the best, Tulloch ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 Mar 2005 19:03:50 -0800 From: "michael wells" Subject: RE: reap > Dave Allen, comedian, 68. Brilliant. It took me ages to catch that. I didn't recognize that name, and after I looked up his picture, I *still* didn't recognize him. Ah well. Speaking of British things, I'm off to see the Futureheads tonight. Cool film I saw a couple of nights ago: "Death Takes a Holiday." Unusually warped subject matter, for its time (early '30s). (AP) - A trial date has been set for the lead guitarist of the Canadian rock group Rush, who faces assault charges stemming from an altercation with deputies in his Florida hotel room. Alex Zivojinovich, better known by his stage name Alex Lifeson, is accused of pushing a female deputy down a hotel stairwell and spitting his blood on a male officer on New Year's 2004. He is scheduled to stand trial May 16, the Naples Daily News newspaper reported. "I think it's (the case) going to trial," said Jerry Berry, Zivojinovich's defence lawyer, as he left the Collier County courthouse Wednesday morning. The trial could be avoided if the state and defence reach a plea agreement in the meantime. A judge can accept a plea agreement during an April 27 hearing. Berry and prosecutor Rich Montecalvo would not comment on whether plea discussions are under way. Zivojinovich was arrested for scuffling with Collier County sheriff's deputies at the Ritz-Carlton Naples at a New Year's Eve party a year ago. He faces two third-degree felony charges that could carry five-year prison sentences ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 Mar 2005 10:13:44 -0600 From: "Brian Huddell" Subject: RE: Congrats.. > goes to Eddie, who, in a letter to the editor in this weeks Stranger > (www.thestranger.com), accuses the music reviewer of smoking > crack.
