GEOFF BARROW - the mastermind behind the GLORY BOX group's unique style of music - has assured impatient followers their album is near completion, contradicting reports they'd split. He says, "We've just had our heads down really, we've never actually broken up, or parted, or whatever. "So for us it just seems, even though we haven't played for years, we still see each other and write - we just haven't released a record for a long time." Waters might want to do something like this as a benefit for Syd. Waters main problems are with Gilmore anyway, right? He could probably patch up what minor problems he has with Wright and Mason. I wonder if Waters, Wright and Mason have ever met Robyn? They obviously know of Robyn's feelings for Syd as a musician. That's not entirely accurate, actually. Waters fired Rick Wright during the recording of THE WALL (allegedly for not pulling his weight in the songwriting and for being too much of a millionaire rock star) and Andy Newmark play drums on THE FINAL CUT because he didn't think Mason kept good enough time, so I imagine the rift runs deeper than just with Gilmour.
