As to tragic/hip, if you cut through all the jargon the actual claims of the paper that is being referred to seem to be valid. That it appears to be necessary to "sugarcoat" them in esoteric lingo is regrettable, but par for the course in academia. A friend of mine is currently writing a dissertation on cultural studies and he has been told by his "Doktorvater" (his supervising professor) that his work is too "narrative" - which I interpret as "too accessible" ... - -- Sebastian Hagedorn EhrenfeldgC It looks like the Finn Brothers show is standing room only. Can't decide if it will still be worth the $25 since I've never been there. Anyone here been to the Birchmere's Bandstand room? Melissa>> Have you been to the Birchmere at all? It is my understanding that the Bandstand is the room that you pass through to get to the main room. I have not been to a Bandstand show but it looks nice enough. The main room allows old people like myself to sit down during a performance, in the Bandstand area you are expected to crowd around the stage. I don't know if the Bandstand room is chosen only due to the size of the expected audience, or if the band is so hip that its audience members cannot be trusted to remain seated during a show.
