it's currently available on <alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.complete_cd> (i
*think* that's the correct name of the group -- at any rate, it's the only
group on my ISP's server with the word "complete" in it...)  i downloaded
it last night, but won't get a chance to listen to it until after all of
this thanksgiving meeting 'n' greeting is finished.

alphabetical by artist, chronological within artist.  but at the risk of
being voted off the island (i've never acutally seen an episode of
*Survivor*, so perhaps i'm exempt), i've tried *many* times to like *Pet
Sounds* -- and always failed.

i've got that laserdisc set, and it's definitely one of the titles that i'd
like to convert.  the "special" editions are *so* fucking annoying.
although, recently checked out *Empire Strikes Back* from the library, and
i didn't notice any "special" additions to it.

interesting trivia: in the commentary track, carrie fisher relates that
while they were shooting *Empire* (in london), she rented out eric idle's
house (while he was shooting *Life Of Brian* in tunisia).

I was a huge fan of Here Be Monsters -- in fact, it was the #1 obstacle 
against me saying the Thrills CD was the best debut since Rufus 
Wainwright -- but I liked From Every Sphere considerably less. It 
sounded to me like Harcourt became way too infatuated with texture and 
atmosphere, at the expense of his songwriting. And all the good 
material was kinda bunched up within the first four tracks.

I haven't been exposed enough to Neko to have a firm opinion on her 
(saw her open for Nick Cave, and she didn't hold my attention), but I 
definitely haven't caught the New Pornographers virus yet. And I think 
the Dandy Warhols are *awful*. Practically the dictionary definition of 
"poseur."

No shit.  And the newest round is even worse (with added Gungans and
Hayden Christiansen or whatever his name is to the ending of Jedi).
Something awful had a parody of the cover of a video game called "George
Lucas Digital Studio -- Fuck your childhood!"

Empire is the only one that I think actually benefits from the
modification.  It's pretty subtle and tasteful.  There are windows in
Bespin Cloud City that weren't there before and there's even a tracking
shot from outside the city that shows a pacing Leia through a window.
Also, many more flying ships and things on Bespin.  Oh, and they fixed the
one glaring continuity error in the series:  They editted out Han's vest
in the close-ups before he was frozen in carbonite.

Yeah, I wouldn't call it a rip, but people write all kinds of stupid
things.

No really - we are absolutely normal! Welcome to the new Philly Feg. 
You really will find us a decent lot.

And maybe because I am in a country that shares a rather long border 
with Ukraine but is anyone watching this? I am curious to see what will 
come of it all and know some folks who are on the streets for nearly a 
week now in Kiev. It's amazing. There are elections here this Sunday 
and this is also an election of the old guard, Moscow trained, old 
party elite against the new democratic reformers. Should be interesting 
in light of the current state of the neighbor to the north.
