There is a "slapback" clipping sound that is occasionally quite noticeable; Robyn was using a lapel mic duct-taped to his guitar soundhole which drifted up into the strumming area. It sounds like a digital defect, but was clearly evident at the show. 2. The extra material on d2 is *not* listed as ...d2t12 and d2t13 but rather correctly given its own name/date code (i.e. the Robyn interview is robynh11-8-2004.wav). These two files should sort alphanumerically to their correct track position on the disc when viewing all the files together, but heads-up in case not. Feed the fish, not the machines. I used to listen to MOST of my records on headphones in the era when Perspex Island was released. I'm wondering if my unusually high (for this list) opinion of that album is related to that fact. Then again, I probably STILL like Queen Elvis best. When was the last time Robyn did Veins of the Queen, anyway? > speaking of recoding, who do i need to get in touch with about inventing > a peripheral that will rip laserdiscs? is such a thing possible? There are some laserdisc rips floating around various torrents right now. In particular, non-"special" versions of the Star Wars Trilogy. I'll have to pull one down to see if it's just a framegrab or what. When was the last > time Robyn did Veins of the Queen, anyway? Well, 15 November 2004 at the Philadelphia, PA show, for one. After that, I can't attest. Unless you were being ironic. (...in which case what I said would still be the case.) I personally am a pretty big Perspex Island fan (I claim at least partial responsibility for Robyn's playing of 'Ride' at the 15 November show.) It took me a long time to fall in love with that album - it seemed plain in a way, and I had an inherent resistance to all the press it received. Not to mention the damn thing wouldn't fit on one side of a 90-minute tape for my car. These days, I guess I would say it was straightforward, but that doesn't keep it from being a gorgeous album. And its ending with 'Earthly Paradise' really, really helps. xo Lauren ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 25 Nov 2004 06:13:43 -0500 From: "Lauren" Subject: Re: fegmaniax-digest V13 #335 on Wednesday, November 24, 2004 6:39 PM, James Dignan wrote: > Welcome Lauren!
