The only thing EC hasn't does is gangsta rap. Probably because John Wesley Harding went gangsta folk first. Speaking of which, any opinions on Il Songo? ===== "'Bushworld' is sort of an alternate universe where things are the opposite of what they seem. President Bush said the other day, 'It is a ridiculous notion to assert that because the United States is on the offensive, more people want to hurt us. We are on the offensive because people do want to hurt us.' I mean that is a perfect 'Bushworld' quote. It's not true and it's nonsensical. It's the opposite of what is true. It comes with 20gig of storage but costs about $500. the price was the only thing that made me pick the ipod, not ease of use, nor portability and especially not function. anyway, back to the ipod. it has been lots of fun over the first weekend and it now carries 2.5 days of music. i don't really like that way itunes works and will probably use it only when I have to, but the ipod does what it does very well. i wish more could be done as far as data management at the ipod itself. it needs a slightly larger display or higher res. or both. it could then display more info, longer filenames etc... of course the biggest improvement would be a a video out. is there any place with a good selection of skins and cases for the new ipod? i went to a couple bestbuys locations but they did not yet have a single accessory designed specifically for the new ipod, just stuff for the mini and the previous? also, how does the ipod react to bumps and water, for instance? gSs np(on my ipod) - juanita, the flying burrito brothers - ---- Msg sent via WebMail ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 27 Sep 2004 12:00:56 -0400 (EDT) From: Christopher Gross Subject: Re: ipod On Mon, 27 Sep 2004 gshell@americangroupisp.com wrote: > also, how does the ipod react to bumps and water, for instance? Well, for a while there my iPod did tend to do a hard disk diagnostic every time I plugged it into my Mac, but it always finished with the "no problems found" icon, and anyway it stopped doing the diagnostic after a week or so. Of course whenever I've dropped my iPod, it's either been in a padded case or landed on a soft carpet. Ah, in Costello's case, you can add "Collaborate with older artists in your creative lineage in mutual attempt at resusucitating creative energy, public profile (McCartney, Bacharach; see also Rattle and Hum, or don't)". This seems to be possible only when you are more famous than Robyn, thus providing incentive for said venerated older artist to see benefit from the situation. Also helps if your major influences are less dead/insane than Robyn's. Although Robyn could possibly rope in someone whose profile is equally diminished... McGuinn?
