Thanks Edwardo! Robyn on Luxor: Well, theyre not all particularly happy, upbeat love songs. Theres some morose stuff on there, I think. Theyre just a collection of songs that I had at the time and I put them out. Theyd all been written and recorded in the 1990s. But I liked how they worked. I think the nice thing about Luxor is it wasnt really prepared as a record so much. What youve got is the essential songs. Theyre not overdressed. Ah ha! This sheds some light on this album. Naked songs and recorded years before... and it seems the individual songs were not recorded with the intent to all be on the same album. I have to say with repeated listens Luxor has grown on me. It's perfect background music for getting things done around the house, but bad, for say a road trip. - -Nuppy - -- Brian nightshadecat@mailbolt.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 4 Aug 2004 17:12:49 +0100 (BST) From: Michael R Godwin Subject: Re: fegmaniax-digest V13 #223 > Date: Tue, 03 Aug 2004 12:50:32 +0100 > From: "Matt Sewell" > Subject: Feggig pics! > The wondrous Jim Davies has kindly provided a home for the photos from > the gig in June... see them here: www.fiveminuteslater.com > Cheers Jim! I also remembered he played STRINGS on a boombox and was upset by the fact that he'd forgetten to bring the longer version. It was cool to look around the class and see people mouthing the words. Why couldn't I have taken classes like that at school? Somehow I think Mr. Godwin's mentioning of the Ralph Alfonso/Kim Rew show sparked the dream... - -Nuppy - -- Brian nightshadecat@mailbolt.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 5 Aug 2004 08:19:26 -0700 From: "Eb" Subject: RE: I Wanna Destroy You 101 I've probably said this before, but my first significant immersion in Bob Dylan was in my high-school sophomore English class, where my teacher had us analyze "Desolation Row" as poetry.
