I think this has to do with my theory about generally consistent artists... I tend to favor the first thing I hear by them, and that was the first Son Volt record I heard; it still sounds easily as good as the debut to me (although I can understand that taken chronologically it doesn't mark much of an advance). Also, I was loading that album into my iPod this weekend, and for the first time realized that the title probably means "in a timely manner" as much as it refers to long stretches of uncurving road, which was previously the only way I'd ever heard it. I can be dense for years at a time, apparently. - -Rex ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 14 Apr 2004 12:37:40 -0400 From: "randi l. spiegel" Subject: download wonderfalls theme - 0% robyn content I just found a link to the complete version of the "Wonderfalls" theme by Andy Partridge ... Welcome to the club, Rex! It was recently pointed out to me that The Celibate Rifles named themselves after The Sex Pistols. Anybody hear any of the tracks from the new Jack White-produced Loretta Lynn album? Sounds pretty good so far. - -tc ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 14 Apr 2004 13:43:15 -0500 From: "Fortissimo" Subject: Re: download wonderfalls theme - 0% robyn content On Wed, 14 Apr 2004 12:37:40 -0400, "randi l. spiegel" said: > I just found a link to the complete version of the "Wonderfalls" theme by > Andy Partridge ... > > Check it out: > > > http://jossisahottie.com/wonderfalls/#multimedia > > > You can find shooting scripts on that page as well. If you feel like throwing some money indirectly at Mr. Partridge, you can always download it (for a measly 99 cents) from iTunes. - ------------------------------- ...Jeff J e f f r e y N o r m a n The Architectural Dance Society http://spanghew.blogspot.com/ :: crumple zones:: :: harmful or fatal if swallowed :: :: small-craft warning :: ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 14 Apr 2004 16:50:16 -0700 From: Eb Subject: Ok, this is deeply weird http://www.subservientchicken.com I especially enjoyed "destroy," "think" and "vomit." This is the scariest and most disturbing thing on the internet. I was kinda thinking it was a poor clod, too. And the "identical iteration" doesn't make ME feel any better, because OF COURSE they're going to record each new command and enter it into the database. Then when I told it to square dance, it did the Macarena. That helped ease my mind. I'm with you on this one. I've always been a massive Airplane fan and Kantner and Slick were the focus of the band in the great 'Baxters' / 'Pointed Head' / 'Crown of Creation' era. I remember thinking Janis Joplin was grossly overrated when Big Brother and the Holding Company were on the Monterey film. Faith Hill, of course, should be boiled in oil for what she did to it. "Ball & Chain" was originally by Big Mama Thornton. ===== "Life is just a series of dogs." -- George Carlin __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
