And at least at first they're gonna be new seasons of cancelled shows that become monster sellers by DVD standards. We're already seeing boxed sets which include unaired episodes (we were just talking about Firefly). I think the next step will be with animated shows since they're selling very well as DVD's and the original cast is easier to reassemble than with live-action shows. As for Mercer Island, small islands that are politically connected with much larger places normally use "on" (e.g., Robyn lives on the Isle of Wight). Islands that are a major part of a political entity operate a bit differently (I know someone who used to live in Tobago, for instance), especially if they are lareg enough to feel like a mainland rather than an offshore island. And the South Island is one such - 55,000 square miles (about the size of Illinois, England, or a medium-sized European country like Greece or Hungary, and the 12th largest island on earth). Comparing it to, say Hawaii (the whole state is only 10% of the S.I.'s size) or Mercer Island (which, if its one of the islands near Seattle is probably 100 square miles tops) is a bit misleading.
