And yeah, funny. My new hobby is Spot The Schizopolis Person is Soderberg films. Did you know that Elmo Oxygen plays one of the security guards in Ocean's 11? Nose army? I have a soft spot for Soderberg. Some of sex, lies, and videotape was filmed in my college hangout bar, The Bayou, at Louisiana State University. > Can't say as though Raising Arizona has worn any too thin for me over > the years, either, though... OK, I'll take the panty off my head and put in my two cents. I have found that Raising Arizona HAS worn thin for me. The last two times I watched it, I just didn't laugh as much as I used to. I think The Big Lebowski may have filled that slot for me: the Coen Brothers Movie You Just Have To Watch Every Now And Then. But each time I watch Schizopolis I get more out of it (and my Life's Dream, of taking over Elmo Oxygen's work, gets closer and closer). ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 12 Mar 2004 15:37:50 -0800 From: "Jason Brown \(Echo Services Inc\)" Subject: RE: It's an MP3 Player! I thought this was the most shocking part: "According to law officers, Mathers was hysterical when police arrived and told them that she killed her boyfriend only after he accused her of illegally downloading music and erased about 2,000 of her MP3s. Mathers complained that it took 3 months to build her music collection." I can just imagine how the RIAA will spin this, "illegal file sharing can lead to murder!" ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 12 Mar 2004 15:41:57 -0800 From: "Rex.Broome" Subject: Check the guy's rock records Eugene: >>I called it bad because when I started college radio I did the real >>late-night shows. and my announcing skills weren't too good, and I >>wasn't confident, so I mumbled, like a lot of college DJs still do. By that definition "bad college radio" is almost a redundant term. But DJ incompetence can be a boon. It was almost certainly the time the DJ on the Frostburg State station locked himself out of the booth and consequently let the whole of side one of "I Am Kurious Oranj" play for half of his set which resulted in me picking up my first Fall album. Definitely curious about that whole Air America thing. More interesting and high-profile talent than I would have expected... That's very exciting. I hope their streaming feed is in a sensible format. I'll be capturing as much of that as I can. > Which also apparently also features Chuck D, noted rapper and... > liberal? Are you seriously asking that? Even if it wasn't obvious from his musical work, his deep involvement in and strong support for open media and the EFF for the last few years should make it so.
