The statuesque blonde shows off her silky smooth pins in new promotions for Braun's Silk-epil ladies' shaver. Looking every inch the fashion queen from head to toe, Heidi strikes a series of poses that should give the product a serious leg-up. Always dashing from one assignment to the next, the 30-year-old beauty says her legs have to be perfect the whole time. Traditional shaving takes time, she points out, and "waxing hurts way too much. I tried it once and hated it." Due to give birth to her first baby this summer, Heidi's keeping mum on her future modelling plans. However, even if she doesn't make a quick return, she'll certainly have plenty to keep her busy work-wise. Not only does she design a collection of baubles for jewellery firm Mouawad, she's also created her own line for shoe company Birkenstock Comments by Dr. Nicholas A. Kaffes, a.k.a. Kansan1225: The above article is accompanied by a series of five photographs of Empress Heidi's closely-shaved legs. In four of the photographs Heidi is sitting down, so as not to tire herself and endanger our baby during the long modelling session. The photographs must have been taken a few months ago, when her fruitful tummy had not grown much yet. Similarly, the latest Victoria's Secret catalog, mailed last week, shows Archangel Heidi sitting down to protect our baby. Heidi's painfully long legs are like sharp daggers that pierce my heart whenever I see them. The February 2004 issue of the British magazine "Tatler" has many such photographs in Heidi's "Rich and spoiled wife" cover story and pictorial. How I would love to be tortured by such a spoiled wife! The Braun campaign photographs (linked above) also show off Heidi's immaculate feet, a great treat for foot fetishists. Having been saved through her kindness, now one of my goals in life is to also be shaved by Goddess Heidi: Goddess shave Kansan. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 11 Mar 2004 14:22:49 -0800 (PST) From: Capuchin Subject: Re: Morbidity On Thu, 11 Mar 2004, Eb wrote: > Our l'il ray of sunshine: > > He uses it whenever he takes a jab at someone he knows is female and > > hasn't openly expressed distaste for him personally. > > Bullshit. I called it bad because when I started college radio I did the real late-night shows. and my announcing skills weren't too good, and I wasn't confident, so I mumbled, like a lot of college DJs still do. HMUH! *** Geekiness warning; normal humans may wish to turn off now ... HMUH! HMUH! HMUH! Rangefinder camera users are like audiophiles. There are few technical or scientific reasons that make them really any better than other cameras, bur rangefinder users will always find a reason to splash obscene amount of money on lenses and bodies. Strictly, a rangefinder is not a camera, but a means of focussing a camera. A rangefinder uses two viewing ports and a rotating half-silvered mirror to estimate distance. In the early days, the rangefinder wasn't coupled to the lens focus. You had to get the distance from the rangefinder and transfer it to the lens scale. All rangefinder cameras these days couple the lens and the rangefinder for fast focussing. For details on the details: Leitz's Leica pretty much defined 35mm rangefinder photography. Small, quiet, beautifully made, fantastically tough with fast lenses, they became firm favourites of photojournalists in the fifties (phew! alliteration!). Leicas are mind-buggeringly expensive (a new lens and body will probably set you back at least US$3000) but will usher you into a world where people really do take pictures of lens test charts and tune their B&W developers for years. I know someone who, only half jokingly said that, when the nearly 50-year-old Kodak Tri-X film was reformulated in 2002, he'd only just got the hang of the old stuff ... Leicas have absurdly high resale values. A 1950s Leica M will still work just fine, and cost almost as much as a new unit. For a rather obsessive view of rangefinders, please see: . Yes, there are sub-f/1 rangefinder lenses. I use a Cosina-Voigtlaender Bessa-R, one of the more modern rangefinders. I'm particularly fond of my 15mm lens: And if you want to try a cheap and quiet rangefinder, there are lots of Yashica Electro 35s on eBay. It's a bit hard to get the batteries, but it's a wonderful camera. > And what do y'all think of the Sigma SD9? Nice body, shame about the glass.
