They are all still alive, but I'm not sure how Cris keeps hanging in there. A few years ago, he was nearly dead from over-indulging on heroin (his wife did have a fatal overdose). We had been wondering for a while what happened to him. Recently (right before New Year's), Cris showed up in the news again. He had been shot by a security guard at a post office. I have not heard a follow-up yet. He's still alive, but not able to stay out of trouble apparently. http://www.vh1.com/news/articles/1483903/20031229/meat_puppets.jhtml?headlines=true Later, Marc The fact of the matter is, I'm fucking brilliant. Well, he preformed "Open Groove Surgery" on the last two Beautiful South albums. Cullimore (or maybe Whitaker) would probably be the pain in the arse to get. And there's no audience for this one in the US either. Incidentally, there's an article about the show today on Salon.com, though non-members would have to tolerate a commercial to view it. ===== "Life is just a series of dogs." -- George Carlin __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Well, add Rodney Harrison to the list. He suffered multiple fractures to his arm in the 4th quarter on Sunday. It's been a big week in his life. He broke his arm and won the Super Bowl on Sunday, he had surgery on Tuesday, and his wife had a baby on Friday. What a difference a week makes. Anyway, I only made those broken bone comments because I'm somewhat ashamed about my passion for football, which doesn't seem to fit into my larger moral code. But I'm already ready for training camp this July. As for bands reuniting, I'm really of a split mind when it comes to the Kinks and the Smiths. Aside from the fact that there are enmities within those bands that might make getting back together impossible, I just can't imagine what it would be like seeing them together again. It, however, doesn't mean that I wouldn't sleep out in the cold to get tickets the minute I heard that there would be a concert. Any Robyn news? Two bands I've already seen and like a lot (Flaming Lips, Air), plus FIVE bands which I've never seen and really would love to see (Belle & Sebastian, BRMC, Mogwai, the Sleepy Jackson and the Thrills). Currently, Belle & Sebastian is the #1 artist on my private "Unseen" list. Listened to the new courtney "hole" love album. First off... very VERY produced. Courtney and the courtnettes (her voice is SO over produced and multi-tracked) come out screaming. the track "I'll do anything" sounds very familiar... perhaps because it has the SAME chords as Smells Like Teem Spirit, complete with grunge-esque ending crash chord. the album may grow on me, but i will have to wait and see. my 2 cents. mike np - "mono" courtney hole ===== - --------------------------------------------- Rebuilding my websight: http://www34.brinkster.com/bflomidy/ _____________________________________________ __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
