As inclined as I am to think that anything the Bushistas tells us has to be a lie, this doesn't really ring true to me, just because if the Kurds caught Saddam, I think he would have been found in a bunker/spiderhole in a state where he was more akin to a Kentucky Fried chicken than a wandering mammal. > > ===== "Senator John McCain recently compared the situation in Iraq to the Vietnam era -- to which President Bush replied, 'What does Iraq have in common with drinking beer in Texas?'" -- Craig Kilborn "I don't think the Bush administration lied to us about Iraq. Why, yes. If you use the OANDA FXConverter (TM) , you'll find it's US$24.73. Cable's at about 1.76550/1.76610, bid/ask. Man, I hate working in forex. It's now listed at at 47.74. I hope they do the decent thing and honour the 13.99 for those who ordered it at that price, although I think they are not obliged to do so if it was an 'obvious' error. If they do take that line, then they may have a point, a 5 cd box set for the price of one cd seems to good to be true to me but, on the other hand, no one posting here seemed to take it as anything but a genuine offer. I was at a thift store yesterday and I found a record on a total whim and decided to buy it because the cover looked interesting. Hey, what's a buck, right? Most of the time I do this, lady luck is a against me, but I don't have a problem when the stakes are that low. This one ended up being a find! The band's "the Tapes" and the album's "Party." 1980. Very early Talking Heads rhythms with over simplified Television dual guitars. No keyboards. Pumping bass. At times, dare I say, it reminds me of the Soft Boys, though vaguely. I used to have that album, years ago. Yeah, it's not bad. I think mine probably cost a buck, too. ;) I believe the band is Dutch, no? AllMusic.com says they actually have *three* albums, but the mere titles are basically the only information offered. Here's a tidbit: http://www.hollandrocks.com/jump/bio/bz16.html So they *are* Dutch, yes. I was on my way to meet my wife Dina and our two daughters, who were vacationing in Greece. I stayed on in Germany, in Bergisch Gladbach, Heidi's home town in the Cologne area, until Monday, July 14. Heidi was with Briatore in Sardinia, Italy, at the time, but I had let her know about my travel plans to Bergisch Gladbach ahead of time. On Sunday, July 13, she left Briatore and came to Bergisch Gladbach for one night, where I was staying. The next day I flew on to Greece and Heidi came back to New York for a Victoria's Secret assignment. Nine months, the length of a pregnancy, after our night in Bergisch Gladbach comes April 11, 2004, Easter Sunday. ------------------------------ End of fegmaniax-digest V12 #470 ********************************
