'course, if i had it my way, i'd just jam on keyboards with angelo. . . since it appears to be a thing to do: although i lurk, and have been occasionally mistaken for a new member, i've been on and off this list (mostly on) since 1993 or 1994--hard to tell by looking at the archives, since, as i mentioned, i hardly ever post. . . i do notice that people used to *apologize* for a non-robyn question. now, it seems that thoughtful discussion of robyn's work seems a rarity. i'm not complaining, just observing. i think perhaps posts have seemed more snarky over time, but as people talk about more personal topics, that seems inevitable. i will also say that it has now become a running joke with some friends that when i have an interesting tidbit of information that seems completely random, i have almost certainly gotten it here. mostly, i wish that robyn were sustaining our interest a bit better. now, now, i'm not personally attacking him. the most talk about robyn i've seen on the list lately was in regard to the soft boys work, which i was also very excited about and felt was robyn's most interesting work in years. i haven't heard luxor yet, but, frankly, i'm not that excited about it. i get a similar vibe from the postings (or lack thereof) about it--i know not everyone has it, but that didn't used to stop people. . . well, possibly people disagree, in which case someone might actually respond to one of my posts, for once. cheers, tom (not clark) **************************** *Tom Rodebaugh, M.A. * *Graduate Student, UNC-CH * *on internship at: * *Temple University Hospital* *tlr3@email.unc.edu * **************************** "The past isn't dead. Thanks, tc (aged 40). Looks like I'm stuck in an orchestral prog rock miasma with William Walton, Richard Rodney Bennett and Vangelis Papathanassiou (not to mention Eric Idle). However, 29th March seems to be a big day for politicians, with Norman Tebbit and John Major. - - MRG ------------------------------ End of fegmaniax-digest V12 #221 ********************************
