Honest.) This is a great item along the the lines of the Ghost in a jar. Ghost in a Jar in a Ghost Jar! Item # 2933152981 Here is the story: Several years ago we found two ghosts in two jars, I won't bore you with the details, in fact, I have talked to several of my friends and they all say that nobody they ever knew ever wanted to talk about the ghosts in jars they found (much less write about it on ebay). Unlike others, we didn't break one of the bottles, we kept them both, and one bottle fits inside the other bottle. So we think it is unique, that we have a "ghost in a jar in a ghost jar." Unlike fake ghosts in a jar (where it doesn't matter if they are in the jar, they attack you anyway, or when you bury them they stand behind you watching), these ghosts are completely harmless, as long as they stay in the jar. We have never let them out of the jar. Nobody has told us to pass these on, in fact, we want to keep them. Therefore we will not allow anyone to bid who does not have ZERO feedback (or less). I took about a 100 pictures and listed them in this auction, but they don't show up! And get this...we held the jars up in front of the mirror, and you can't even see them in the mirror! So I had my son draw "an actual artist's rendering" but the ghost in the jar in the ghost jar doesn't show up! Now that's scary.... Shipping is free. Whatever happened to the days when ghosts were 5 cents? and they came with bubble gum. Go figger.... Nobody has told us to pass these on, in fact, we want to keep them. I do like the Freur album. Nice, woozy, ethereal eurotechno kinda stuff. It actually reminds me of some of Japan's quieter moments ("Gentlemen Take Polaroids") and Gary Numan's "Dance" album. There are plenty of good vocals, and harmonies, and a touch of humor, too. Oh, and we can't forget SynDrums, either. It took me a while to find the reissue CD, but I did recently and am enjoying it just as much as I did when I bought the LP in 1986 or whenever. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 6 Jun 2003 13:03:30 -0700 From: "Rex.Broome" Subject: Doot Doot Lager Lager Lager Lager TC: >>Jesus Christ. To put a positive spin on your cynicism: YES! Everything you say is TRUE! (smiley emoticon here if I used them) I actually have the Freur *album*; I went through a fairly serious period of Underworld fandom (still like them a lot) and figured I had to have that tune, and the whole LP was cheap so what the hell. The photo of the band is pretty hilarious. The record itself, well, there are certainly worse artifacts of that era and genre. And it's better than the record they made as "Underworld" on Sire before they changed the name to (something else) to "go Techno" and then back again. (Adding confusion to the name game is the fact the Freur apparently originally had an "unpronounceable glyph" as a band name, well before Prince.*) Hey, lay off, I have a lot of weird records by people tangentially related to other people I like! - -Rex * Why doesn't somebody just get it over with and name their band "Unpronounceable Glyphs(s)"? It doesn't have to be your *real* band, it can be your side project with Jim O'Rourke or Jah Wobble or somebody. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 06 Jun 2003 13:11:17 -0700 From: Tom Clark Subject: Re: Toast in a jar (RH content 100%. Maybe I just read to many issues of Q Magazine in the 90's but it shocks me that someone could be familiar with Freur and have never heard of Underworld. Oh and hi I'm Nora. Just curious: Does anyone here (Natalie? Aaron?) like the Dismemberment Plan? They're playing locally tonight, and I just plain *forgot about it*. I just returned from running and am a sticky mess, and I don't think I have time to clean up and get over to the show. I've barely heard the DP at all, but I always feel like they're one of those bands (see Mum, Mogwai, Faust, Tahiti 80, Boards of Canada) which I *would* like if I just heard them in depth. And opening tonight is Enon, whom I *know* I like. And if I do end up liking the DP someday, I'll regret missing this farewell tour. Blah. Beat my personal-best time on this particular route by 1:14 tonight, though. ;) A small plane crashed into a Hollywood apartment building, this afternoon. Creepy. I've heard only their last 2 or 3, however - but let's see...I like the character of Travis Morrison's voice, the drumming is very creative, they're unafraid to toss in some near proggy odd rhythms and meters, some nice keyboard sounds, and the songs are catchy in an odd way, not the obvious power-pop singalong but subtler. They sound nothing at all like the Wrens, but in a sense their appeals are similar. If that makes any sense at all. Apparently this is their last tour. ..Jeff J e f f r e y N o r m a n The Architectural Dance Society www.uwm.edu/~jenor/ADS.html :: it's not your meat :: --Mr. Toad ------------------------------ End of fegmaniax-digest V12 #202 ********************************
