Hello all! Gosh it's been awhile since I was around...with all the exciting Robyn stuff going on lately, though, I had to come back and see what was happening on the list. How is everyone? *looks for familiar faces* Are Ross O, Mike H, Bayard & Dolph still around? I recognize Glen, and of course woj...and is that Gary from Nashville? *waves* Very excited to see the 2nd Glass Flesh album is out!! I'll have to snag a copy of it soon. Take care, all...am hoping someone remembers me back so I don't look like a complete basketcase. ^_^ LSDiamond ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 09 Aug 2002 22:02:07 -0700 From: "The Real Mr. Feg" Subject: Old Groupie Reunion!! Not only is my buddy Mike right, I am indeed one of the few old fogeys left from those days, but I was ALSO AT TRINITY COLLEGE CAMBRIDGE 1976-1979!! We probably saw all the same shows! Heck, you probably still owe me money! Contact me off list. It feels good not to be the only geriatric round here. ;) BTW: I used to be a heavy contributer to this list, but these days work kinda gets in the way (I do strange things with computers here in Silly Cone valley, California) and I scan the digests rather erratically - hence the delay in responding to this. > Give It To The Soft Boys > Sandra's Having Her Brain Out > Wading Through A Ventilator > (I Want to Be An) Anglepoise Lamp Yes, I have all these on original vinyl - but they are also available on CD compilations, too. I also have the Live at the Portland Arms recording. Again, contact me off-list for more info. ...I even have the poster from the Lady Mitchell Hall gig you mentioned scanned on my website! Should i bother hoping for dc dates again? nothing between Atlanta and NYC? aaaarggghhh. I was getting excited about the idea of following them up the coast but now i don't know. maybe i'm just getting old and lazy (and cheap) but the idea of having to haul myself all the way to new york for the shows is just not appealing at this point. Gram Parsons is just one of the many things ruined by my time working at that bookstore. I was there when that tribute album came out and though it was a nice album they played it 2-3 times a day everyday for weeks. I now can't stand to hear any of it or even the original songs. The other things they'd ruined for me were much less interesting - Old 97s, some Christmas compilations. It's a shame because I think I would have really liked the music if not for overexposure. melissa ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 10 Aug 2002 22:32:56 +0100 From: "Igblan" Subject: Re: Old Groupie Reunion!! We probably saw all the same shows! Heck, you > probably still owe me money! I'm afraid I don't recognize the name Nick Winkworth. It's no big secret that my real name is Paul Chapman. I did maths Part I and Computer Science Part II. I lived at I6 Whewell's in the second year, and shared C1 Angel with Saul Jacka in the 1st and 3rd years. Many of my friends came from the '78 intake, but those of our year of my regular acquaintance at that time were Tony Cheal, Andrew Facey, Nick Girvan, and Alan Crawley. > BTW: I used to be a heavy contributer to this list, but these days work > kinda gets in the way (I do strange things with computers here in Silly > Cone valley, California) and I scan the digests rather erratically - > hence the delay in responding to this. I worked for 3 months in Los Gatos in 1984, and went back for holidays and conferences in 1985, 1988 and 1991. Since California passed the workplace smoking law I haven't been back, and I am unlikely to return until it is repealed. :) > ...I even have the poster from the Lady Mitchell Hall gig you mentioned > scanned on my website!
