When I ask people the date under those circumstances, they usually just say "the 22nd." (Even when it isn't the 22nd, which isn't so helpful.) It's not uncommon to hear people talk about "the 22nd of February" rather than "February 22nd." I don't think I've ever heard anyone _say_ "22 February" but then I've never been to Europe, either. I agree it's more logical to order the increments from smaller to larger rather than mixing them up. People who are driven crazy by this lack of logic must be maddened by the fact that times are given from larger increments to smaller (HH:MM:SS). Somehow we all muddle through. Add me to the list of people curious if the new Tanya Donnelly is worthwhile. Hey Natalie, Do you remember when WDET use to play Throwing Muses all the time in the late 80's? Martin Bandyke and Ralph Valdez on the Sunday night Dimension show introduced me to so many great 80's bands like the Muses, Pixies etc. Hmmm, a re-constituted Throwing Muses. You might be right, Kristen dosn't have the same fire. I don't think she has another I Hate My Way in her. Which is not to say they couldn't be good in a different way like when Wire got back together in 1987. I hope it will work for them. She did go into a slump for a while, but I think _Sunny Border Blue_ is a wonderful record. I also think Tanya Donelly is much better when there are other strong personalities for her to work off of - her solo stuff just kind of glides prettily off my ears, instantly to be forgotten. This thing really pisses me off. Who the hell are these record companies to say that, once I buy a CD, I can play it only on certain CD players? How is that terribly different from Sony manufacturing CDs that can be played only on Sony CD players? The good news is: I think I read that someone in the US is suing a record company about this - unfortunately, I think the grounds were that the person had no way of knowing that the CD was unplayable in a computer. Personally, I think we all have a moral duty to steal and destroy as many of these CDs as we can...
