As much as I respect you and appreciate hearing your views, I am going to have to ask you to subscribe to the Pynchon List if you really want to reply to my post. It was the product of a spiralling discussion relating Pynchon's views on war to the current situation. I deleted half of Doug's letter to shorten the post -- which of course means you don't have the full context; and most importantly, it was 100% not intended for the Feg List. I *unsubscribed* from the Feg List because I couldn't take the politics any more. Believe me, I have no desire at all to trigger another List convulsion! So please understand if, not only do I decline a response to your reply, but I hope the Feg List will respectfully let any issues connected to my mis-post simply drop. - --Quail ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 25 Oct 2001 09:20:34 -0500 From: "Mike Wells" Subject: Grant Lee in Chicago Looks like Grant Lee Phillips' interrupted tour is back on...and he'll be here Tuesday night, 11-13 at the Abbey Pub. Is there also a set list for the recent Poptones Radio 4 show too? Ideal children's TV material... You know, I get email all the time from people asking me about the care and feeding of monkeys, how to smuggle them in and out of countries that don't like to let them in our out, and lots and lots of breeding questions. I've received maybe fifteen questions about coffee and three asking if I was some sort of friar. But until about three weeks ago, I'd never heard of this amazingly morbid monestary! My friend Joshua was in Italy a couple of weeks ago and sent me an email saying "I'm off today to see more of your dead brothers." and I was totally confused. Then I received a postcard with a lovely portrait of a dead monk, quite decayed but still in his robes and leaning against a wall. And now this. Wow. > After some additional research, I've found a photo at: > And this. Wow wow. I think this was just added very near the top of my "Places I REALLY need to see in person before I die" list. Somewhat to my own surprise, I took this little project to its logical conclusion and burned myself a Halloween mix CD. For those of you who are really that curious, you can see the track list at: Of course a lot of these are only "Halloween songs" in my own mind; and there are some that even I don't consider Halloween songs, but felt like including anyway. And there are many other songs that I would have included but couldn't find a copy. I even amused myself by making a few iTunes playlists, like the Partytime playlist (no slow quiet songs), the Spookly list (all songs about monsters, songs used in horror movies, etc.), the Halloween list (strictly Halloween songs), and even the Eb list (all the hardest and/or cheesiest goth/industrial songs)..... - --Chris ______________________________________________________________________ Christopher Gross On the Internet, nobody knows I'm a dog. chrisg@gwu.edu ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 25 Oct 2001 22:39:34 -0700 (PDT) From: bayard Subject: ok, so my timing's a bit off... these are left over from last year. i know you'd rather have pumpkin carols about now, but in case you want to get ready for the coming season: http://www.bitmine.net/~bayard/christmas/ These are feg-approved (and -recommended) tunes. happy halloween. =b for scary songs, see chris ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 26 Oct 2001 00:47:23 -0500 From: steve Subject: darkside ipod (NR) Niko Coucouvanis, of MacAddict - > Breakout!: I'm pretty sure I'm the first one who found this, even > though I found it by accident.
