Should be good. It was a good one -- but it dates from Bjork's "Post" days, IIRC. The very idea of Bjork marrying Space Ghost is a riot. I am a blathering Space Ghost fan. I think Lokar is my hero. And the episode "Chambraigne" is without a doubt the best thing ever aired on TV. Did anybody catch that episode of "Harvey Birdman, Attorney-at-Law"? Ohmygod was that funny. Wonder what happened to Dr. Nightmare, Attorney-at-Law, however. ObRobyn and Cinema content: Years ago in a mad fit I read a bunch of Cormac McCarthy's novels. "Blood Simple" mesmerized me -- reading it made me sweat and I couldn't put it down. Of course, I thought it would be madness to even attempt to make a film of a McCarthy novel, which is why, of course they did it. Nope, I'm not gonna watch "All The Pretty Horses." However (and here's the Robyn content), at the recent Soft Boys Portsmouth show, during "Leppo and the Jooves" Robyn sang: "All them pretty horses / planted in a line / you see them on the fire escape / but you don't intertwine." I wonder if Robyn reads McCarthy or has just seen the movie? Get email alerts & NEW webcam video instant messaging with Yahoo! Huh. I used to work in portable systems engineering at NEC. :) No offense to anyone with my comments, though. The newer NEC laptops suck. Sony Vaios absolutely suck big donkey dick. I hate them. The Dells seem to be really nice. Toshibas are supposed to be really good, too, but I hate the pencil eraser mouse. I think Compaqs are also good, but my brother has one for work and hates the keyboard layout since they put the Fn key on the bottom left, with control right next to it. Very dumb IMO, and I am surprised that no one has come up with a way to remap them yet. A couple of things you have to keep in mind are the keyboard and pointing device. Due to the compact nature of the things, the companies arrange the keyboards in different ways. There doesn't seem to a standard layout. Many have the home, end, page up, page down, etc., keys vertically down the right side. I find that irritating since I use them a lot. The Dell I saw a while back had them in the standard keyboard layout. Very nice. I personally hate the pencil eraser mice, and have gotten very good with the touch pad. It's all very personal, so you should try out different ones to see which suit your preference. I don't have the CD, but I'm pretty sure I heard a fair number of those songs last night at her show. The show was incredible, by the way. She played a surprisingly diverse mix of songs from all her albums (and a couple of breathtaking pieces from her Moby Dick show, unless I miss my guess) except, unfortunately, _Mister Heartbreak_. It was all good ones, too. I nearly lost it when she did "Love Among the Sailors" as the last song before the encore. The musicianship was just stunning -- a bassist, a drummer, another keyboardist, and Laurie on keyboard and violin. She did tell an old story -- the one about the baby carriage traffic testers -- that was kind of strange to hear so many years after it was current. But anyway, the weak points of the show, in my opinion, were the songs that must be on the new album. They were pleasant, but the lyrics were remarkably unremarkable. I get the suspicion that maybe something has happened recently in her life to make her write mediocre songs with a lot of strong emotions behind them, and yeah, I found them a little embarrassing too. I'd go see this show again in a second, though. Drew - -- Andrew D.
