Running the query is simple enough, but there are several problems with the overall concept. Right now I've got no flag in there to easily distinguish tracks on Robyn Hitchcock albums with tracks on other peoples' albums, and we've just recently started adding stuff like RH tunes on Captain Sensible LP's, etc. So those will appear on the list, even though they probably shouldn't. And despite the remarkable efforts of folkz like Eddie & Bayard and Woj and everybody else, we still only have setlists for roughly 50% of the gigography, so that will add even more songs to the list and inspire lots of "I'm sure I saw him/them play [song title] at [venue] sometime around [gig date]" messages. Not that those are bad, mind you! There are also a couple of bootlegs in the DB that I haven't gotten around to flagging for exclusion from lists of "officially released product"; that's why "Kimberley's Tune" is there. And, of course, the release of "And How It Got There" added several songs to the list all at once, just recently. At least we've resolved most of the song duplications, I think. The really obvious ones, anyway. So if you can deal with the aforementioned caveats, the results are below. Weellll, I sort of have to agree with Godwin. Altho I really like "Manhattan". I don't quite know how to explain why except that there are some important emotional truths in it that aren't easy to convey on film, so props for that. And "Zelig" is brilliant. Jeez...first, there was your "It was all downhill for Peter Sellers, once he moved into color films" comment, and now this. ;) Oddly enough, all the ones you list above are among my favorite later Woody Allen films. I liked "Everyone Says I Love You" and "Husbands and Wives" a lot, too. Several others are unsatisfying, however. "Celebrity" stunk. "Shadows & Fog" stunk. "September": a stiff bore. "Manhattan Murder Mystery": enjoyable, but totally forgettable. And his films are so repetitive in theme that some of the later ones bleed together for me. I can't even tell you if I've seen "Alice" or not! I really idolized Woody Allen, circa the Zelig/Broadway Danny/Purple Rose/Hannah years. But my enthusiasm faded a bit, when he started recycling himself so much. Still, I would never say no to seeing one of his films. And even if you can't hate his work, you've gotta admit his prolonged productivity is remarkable. How many people have written *and* directed more (widely released) films, during the past 20 years? And received positive-to-rave reviews for the vast majority of them?
