I think it would depend on whether or not you the Fegs actually *wanted* to die, wouldn't it? If you didn't want to, the choice would be pretty obvious - either Alice Cooper's "Black Juju" or James White and the Blacks' cover of "That Ol' Black Magic." (As anyone who's heard these tracks will attest!) Another good option might be the talking-book version of Dr. Peter Rosen's "Atlas of Emergency Medical Procedures." But if you *did* want to die -- THAT's when it gets complicated. If you just wanted to hasten the process, then just about any Jimmy Buffett or Celine Dion track would suffice. Maybe Lou Reed's "Metal Machine Music," though I'll probably get flamed for suggesting that. Either way, if you don't want to go quickly, then surely you're back to "Black Juju" and "That Ol' Black Magic," aren't you? (Interesting that both songs have the word "black" in their titles.) I suppose it's possible that for whatever weird-ass reason, you really want to die slowly and just want some appropriate background music. If so, then you're on your own as far as I'm concerned. Good luck with that! Anyway, while it's an interesting question, in many cases it's also completely academic. If you're *dying,* then you might find it rather difficult to reach for the CD player to change discs, am I right? So unless you have all of your discs loaded in one of those 200-CD changers, then you're pretty much stuck with whatever's in there at the critical moment. So just to be on the safe side, I'd suggest keeping a portable cassette or MP3 player handy at all times, loaded with whatever tunes you feel compelled to listen to when it happens. It pays to be prepared! (And if you run out of space in your pockets, you could always get rid of that bulky first-aid kit.) And more recently: >Incidentally, the correct answer to the song question is that >the cure to death will be found in about 15 years and none >of us will ever die. Now THAT's a frightening thought!
