OK, thanks for the heads-up. However, this is what the site REALLY says: "There needs to be some more mixing work done before a release date can be scheduled, but it could be as soon as September or October of 2001." COULD BE AS SOON AS. Big difference. And yeah, I'm sure the US distributor still could be up in the air. Beggars Banquet US hasn't had a breakthrough record in awhile, so perhaps Tanya would rather find a distributor with more clout. Interesting to also read that there's a new Pixies B-side compilation, which probably *won't* get released in the States -- I need that! I have multiple Pixies rarities taped in weird places all over my cassette collection. (Boy, are my homemade cassettes a mess. I used to do a lot of album-taping in the old days, but that dropped to a minimum once I hopped on the freebie train. What's more, I've upgraded a bunch of those taped albums to better formats. As a result, I now have 45-50 cassettes filled with obsolete album tapings...with *irreplaceable rarities taped in the extra space at the ends*. So, I can't throw away the tapes, and I don't have anything new to tape in the first 40 minutes...so there, the tape carcasses rot. Blah! I've taped exactly *one* album in the past five years: Einsturzende Neubauten's 2 x 4. But alas, I digress.) Anyway, the 4AD site and the prime Pixies site (http://www.multimania.com/alec/index.html) both say the album's already out, and yet it's not for sale at CDNow.... Huh...I've never even heard of Magnetophone, who are prominently featured on the 4AD site. Anyone heard their music? >after a couple listens, i'd say that it seems like SBB is KH's best >album since Hips & Makers though. I'll go along with that...it's nowhere near as good as Hips & Makers, though. But do you agree that her voice is sounding a lot scratchier nowadays? It just doesn't have the same clarion quality anymore. :( Eb np: http://home.earthlink.net/~elbroome/np.html ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 12 Mar 2001 10:23:47 +0000 From: "Stewart C.
