Included is a Rufus Wainwright track called "Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk," taken from his upcoming album. Title: Poses. Release date: April 17, 2001. Yes!! I just listened to the track -- not quite magical, but very good. You can tell he has changed producers -- it doesn't have quite the same classic, "Americana" feel as the past album. The same sophistication, though. Starts off a bit perfunctory and clunky, but it blossoms in an unexpected, beautiful way. Between Elliott Smith, Eels, Rufus and Nelly Furtado, I'm thinking warm 'n' fuzzy thoughts about DreamWorks, lately...I'll even forgive them for Papa Roach. Eb PS The disc also includes a *very good* Elliott outtake called "A Living Will." More of an upbeat, power-pop feel. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 22 Nov 2000 23:17:03 PST From: twofangs@sympatico.ca (best wishes always ... randi) Subject: Just Me - from best wishes always ... randi Hello! best wishes always ... randi has just sent you a greeting card from Bluemountain.com. Unfortunately my favorite entry didn't win: "Out By Arkansas, Frogs Get Kinda Messy." n. re. vinyl, my Melted Men 7" supposedly comes with a "free ingrown toenail inside!" But alas, this turned out to be false advertising. ------------------------------ End of fegmaniax-digest V9 #340 *******************************
