Robyn said in San Francisco several years ago that "The Feghorn" was one of his favorite pubs near where he lived (at one time?). That's all. So yesterday I was selling some of my promo records when I just happened to run into an acquaintance of mine who is *very* well-connected in the Portland "scene." He's quite the mover and shaker, and I'm sure you're all dying to know who he is, but I'll just call him Croquet Mallet. Me being special and all, he invited me back to his house to listen to some *exclusive* Minders demos. I couldn't believe what I wa hearing! These demos were just incredibly rare! I don't think anyone else had ever heard them before! Man, were they exclusive! The music was pretty good, too! Croquet Mallet's wife - whom I'll call Deck Chair - was also there, as was a woman I'll call Crab Grass. Crab Grass was really tall and boney and had no breasts or hips, and was therefore utterly gorgeous. I was so jealous of her. Deck Chair, on the other hand, had breasts and hips and was kinda, you know, stocky (yuck!), so she wasn't attractive at all. Unfortunately Hugh Hefner and Amy Correira didn't show up and I didn't spot any celebrities, so it was kind of a wasted evening (except for those exclusive demos! Did I mention they were rare?). Oh yeah, and Croquet Mallet, who's this red-haird left-handed English guy (wink, wink!) smokes a lot of dope.
