I *really* enjoy the songs Pete did with the lush Robert Astley arrangements, like "Brooklyn Kids" and "Football Fugue". Or is it John Astley, whatever Pete's father-in-law's name is. (And why are all of his daughter Virginia Astley's albums out of print? Feh!) Townshend has just remastered and re-released them. They're available via his web site: . ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 15 Sep 2000 10:09:31 -0700 From: Tom Clark Subject: Re: [tommaniax-l] *arrrgh* on 9/15/00 8:39 AM, Vivien Lyon at vivlyon@yahoo.com wrote: > --- lj lindhurst wrote: > >> Hey everyone, be sure and ask Quail about the dream he had >> last night >> about going to Portland and Nat was there, and Viv was there, >> and Tom >> Clark was my "boyfriend", etc., etc. ... Alright ladies, throw your panties in the dryer already! It's funny though, I was driving to work this morning and as I usually do I fell asleep somewhere between Cupertino and Los Altos. I had this cool dream where I went to Portland and had a wild weekend of debaucherous lovemaking with lj and Vivien. Jamie was there too, but only to deliver the occasional bucket of ice and bottle of Stoli. I woke up in a panic, however, when lj turned into Quail while performing a "reverse cowgirl" on me. Whew!! This is going to be quite a day! - -tc, roped into watching the "Ultimate Fighting Championship" tonight. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 15 Sep 2000 17:25:28 GMT From: Asshole Motherfucker Subject: dream a few nights ago, i dreamed that i went to see the soft boys concert, but it was sold out, so i went to see the kiss concert instead. come to find out, all the fegs were at the kiss concert anyways! i also dreamed, last night (and this has nothing to do with the fegs, so feel free to skip it), that i was out distributing eat the state!, and when i was taking it into this one store, a bunch of (like, maybe 15) people were sitting around a table playing poker. i decided to join in, and won the first hand with a full house (kings over tens). but before i could collect, we had to go through a "balkan sign-off". apparently, the girl two seats to my right was from the balkans, and had to okay all winning hands. finally, i've come to a realisation. viz., that the vast majority (if not all) of the radio commercials are just irredeemably stupid. and that, while teevee commercials are also very stupid, many of them at least have quite interesting and/or creative visuals.
