Okay, the time is at hand. I'm driving up the coast tomorrow to begin a new life in the land of Bandon, Oregon. This may be my last transmission for a while. Becoming a Bandonian or Oregonian in Blisstonia will be very different for me. I have lived in California, except for a brief Nevada stint, for about the last 21 years. I'm looking forward to living in a dinky, quiet town where it rains a lot. It is impossible for me to describe some of the emotions that have and those I will go through me after I recover from the incredible beingness of exhaustion that relate to how much I will miss the wonderful people and cats I know in this area. I suppose that if I ever get another good night's sleep, I'll have myself a really good cry. Right now, I am extremely numb, though not terribly comfortably so. Ahead is only a tiny amount of uncertainty. My employer has granted me the ability to telecommute, as their other option was losing me. Strangely, I have headhunters calling me on a daily basis, in case I loose my patience with my current situation. Rent is going to be much cheeeeper than it is in this land of solid gold houses. My sweety and I are not giving up a jet-setting lifestyle and don't expect to feel cut off from the outside world. Jeez. We'll even have DSL soon. For those of you who care about such things, our new information is: Mark Gloster and Donne Teague 777 12th St. SW Bandon, OR 97411 I hope to host a fegparty before too long and have lotsa great feggery over for fun and music and laughs and goofy dorkiness. Be sure to contact me before you come down. The streets were named and numbered by the *criminally insane, with shockingly little imagination. I don't expect to be at that residential address for too long. We hope to actually get our Tigermonkey ranch up there with a thousand head of kitties and more trees than a hippy could hug before too long. You all are in my best weird dreams. See ya soon, - -Markg *Bandon has multiple streets by the same name or number. There are 3 12ths, 4 2nds, 2 Portlands, 2 Alabamas, etc. It is a very small town, and to sound like a Portland feg who has upon occasion in the past been mildly suggested of crabby tendancies, there is no fuckin' excuse for this. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 14 Aug 2000 10:52:47 +0100 From: "Stewart C. You don't really need more than a handful of his albums (he's released over 80!) because his style rarely changes, and can get a bit wearing. But whether with The Pop Rivets, Milkshakes, Mighty Caesars or Headcoats he's always good for a laugh and a cry. Musically the mix is lo-fi Merseybeat/Kinks riffs with some Pebble-isms, Link Wray and blues riffs thrown in. I'd recommend, 17% - Hendrix Was Not The Only Musician, as it comes with a sturdy little book which introduces his art, poetry and prose-work as well (Robyn's not the only one at it...). It's credited to Billy Childish & His Famous Headcoats and is available from Slab-O-Concrete Publications. Childish actually went out with controversial artist Tracey Emin for quite a while, and was one of the names on her infamous Tent which documented everyone she had ever slept with. He's now invented a new art movement called Stuckism, as Emin recently said that his art was, yup, "Stuck" Beck and Blur number among his admirers. One of his current bands (he usually has a few on the go) is called Friends Of The Buff Medway Fanciers Association, which gives you some idea of what he's about!!! jmbc ------------------------------ Date: 14 Aug 2000 11:40:39 -0000 From: Jonatan "Morén" Subject: Re: AMG ratings Quoting MARKEEFE@aol.com: As for AMG reliability, this is my favourite bio: Hassan Genre: Rock Styles: Euro-Pop Album: Tillvaratagna effekter, vol. 5 Bio: Hassan has released over five volumes of his Tillvaratagna effekter series. Because they forgot to renew their license? Renew their license with who? The UN? I wonder how often this has happened before. Maybe there is more to it, I don't know. It just seems a bit backwardsass for them to do something like this. What could they have been doing, broadcasting pro-milosevic prograganda? That is what pro-milosevic broadcasters are suppose to do. Many Indian families had little choice in the matter of employment. Things are a little better now but the best way to ensure security (VA benefits, health care, housing) for your family was to join the military. I don't think I saw the US flag or the Canadian one at the Pow Wow in Kanawake. The US and Canadian governments were dumb enough to run their borders right through unceded Mohawk land. Of course, flying either or even both could cause problems here. Some Quebecois aren't too fond of the Canadian flag, either. Does anybody know for a fact that Only The Stones Remain didn't derive from this Inca story? "There used to be gringos who ... were slaves of Inkari, and they worked without rest under his orders. But Inkari was a good man. They say he governed the whole world: Huancayo, Cusco, the whole earth. And they say he built works so the water would stay on the heights. In those days, because he did not wish it, nothing was baptized, nobody was baptized. The people didn't live in the valley towns but up high in stone houses, to which the water came by the works of Inkari. Inkari built Cusco ... and there he lived, in a great and beautiful city all of stone. The whole world came to his palace, where he discussed and ordered everything. When Inkari and his people .... died, they went down into the underworld; and the water descended to the lowlands, and was baptized. The houses in the hills have no water anymore, only the stones remain" - -- Ignacio Wamani, an Inca woman PS: The European "conquerors" have never equalled the agricultural and social development of the original inhabitants. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 14 Aug 2000 19:29:52 -0700 (PDT) From: John Barrington-Jones Subject: Re: Query for Portland fegs (0% RH) - --- John Jenks wrote: > Hi folks.
