I'm going to be in Atlanta for a conference June 10-14, and wonder if there are any Fegs left in the ATL area who might want to try a Fegathering. My evenings 6/11-6/13 are free at this point. I'm staying downtown at the Marriott if that makes any difference. I think the Fegs I've met so far will attest to the fact that I'm mostly harmless and relatively safe to take out in public. From the information I'd gathered, he fought it to the end. > > As a Raiders fan, I see one bright side: The team will probably dedicate the > season to his memory, thus giving them inspiration and motivation to win it > all. errrrr, what? Hmmmm. I thought that the Raiders drafted a fat, drunk. Polish kicker to win it all. If he's not deported, that is. Also - a new version of Drake's "River Man", sans glitches. http://glasshotel.net/gh/radiohitchcock.htm Thanks to Nur Gale for the Denny! Paul Montangne, could you email me? I thought it was hilarious, and so appropriate given Robyn's penchant for sea creatures, and distaste for the church and pornography. There is nothing offensive there, I promise you, oh ye of little faith. Of curse, that break concided with the time my mailbox would've been overflowing with birthday greetings from Fegs... During the break two other notweorthy events happened: 1) I now have a working scanner, so weird things may appear... 2) the really, really cute lecturer whom I would love to, if I could, but... sigh... anyway... the lecturer here at university that I recently introduced to the music of our dear Robyn, and who pronounced it "interesting, but a bit TOO surreal in places" is a member of an all-femal folk/comedy group. And apparently, they have just added "Victorian Squid" to their repertoire! A victory of sorts (though still no joy on the fantasy front...) I did. And although the joke sort of wore off after the first 5 minutes, that's 4 minutes longer than most web-based gags... But far more importantly, this site is CHOCK FULL of *precisely* the sort of graphic files I've been looking for to build a Robyn Hitchcock screen saver! Complete with neutral monocolored backgrounds and everything! (Do you think they'd mind if I stole large numbers of them? I'd give them a credit, assuming I don't discover where *they* stole them from...) Now if I could only find some decent vegetable pix, & maybe a nice scan of someone's favorite wax doll, I'd be totally set. Thanks, JBJ! Friday night was their first live outing, and while they hadn't got the whole show down pat, it was an enjoyable evening. A US tour is promised for the fall; I'd recommend them. Most impressed by the support artist, Amy Rigby. Very much worth hearing.
