I have thought about my trip, and I realize that I'd probably like to stay in SanFran for two weeks, Seattle for a week, and I'm wondering about the feasibility of going to Vancouver. Okay - the charming Mark & Carole are my hosts in San José & the land of Port {do Portland fegs drink port? ;-} Monsieur Chris Franz has generously invited me for a week at his abode in SanFran. Yet I have more needs - {man - am I demanding} I believe that I will also require an extra week in SanFran. I really don't want to impose on you Chris ... any takers? Oh - and is there a feg in Seattle that can put me up for a week? How far is Vancouver from Seattle and does anyone want to go? Can I take a bus? {I don't mind in the least going alone - I just need to plan.} {btw - Nick - me, you, the wife & kids - The Zoo - thank you :-} itinerary so far: May 4th - arrive @ sharkboy's May17 th - leave for Portland feg gatherings once or twice during this time i believe - sharkboy is the best co-ordinator in the whole world. Thanks she.rex for the wine suggestions - guess you can't come? {sorry - I haven't the foggiest idea where you live} landing in San José in less than two weeks, Rand new addy for the trip is: But you can always mail the other addy - and ask Tim to pass it on ... is up and ready for business, f.y.i. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 Apr 2000 22:04:53 PDT From: "Skank Holio" Subject: radio question is the story about some dj having locked himself in the studio, and broadcast Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer on a continuous loop until the fuzz came in and axed the door down apocryphal? No, I'm sure it's true. It's just another lame example of "DJ Stunt-ism", a practice that should be banned (along with saying "D'oh!" if your name is not Homer Simpson.) This type of stunt is usually staged to seem like a DJ with a disturbed psyche (redundant?) has gone berserk. However, it's really just another ploy to get a feature story on the evening news and/or a desperate (or "kookily creative" if you are the PD in charge) attempt to get people to sample the station at any cost. During the next ratings period, that same DJ will sit on a billboard for a week for the Make-A-Wish Foundation to show that he's "still crazy, still rockin'", but now "in a positive, community-friendly way." "...but, right now, let's kick off another non-stop set of 10 songs in a row with System Of A Down on 98-9, The Power Pig!!!!" /hal ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 24 Apr 2000 12:14:04 EDT From: MARKEEFE@aol.com Subject: Re: radio question In a message dated 4/24/00 7:00:45 AM, hbrandt@milehigh.net writes: << a practice that should be banned (along with saying "D'oh!" if your name is not Homer Simpson. >> D'oh!
