But, it seems that the kids on the web are not as into a detailed episode guide as we might want... http://www.ctw.org/sesame/tv/day/0,2060,ODcz,00.html "Today: Singing Sing. Sing a song. You can sing high, low, fast, or slow. Singing is one way to express yourself. Try this singing activity and see." That from the official site. I would not think it that far off, what with Kimberly's recent performance art peice of "guitarist as Muppet" as the recent RH shows. I can see how the ground work would have been set for Robyn's appearance on the show.... ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 30 Jan 2000 14:34:37 -0500 From: overbury@cn.ca Subject: Re: RH on Sesame Street On 30 Jan 00, at 11:52, Bayard wrote: > please, don't tease me so... > I'm serious. I'll be there! Anyone else for the Fleece and Firkin this evening? I was dozing in bed at the weekend when the wife rushed in and hurled herself across the room to switch on the radio. Robyn Hitchcock was on the Radio 4(!) chat show 'Loose Ends'. He talked a bit and sang a solo acoustic 'I feel beautiful'. Did anyone tape it? I was too bleary to set the tape up in time. - - Mike ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 31 Jan 2000 15:35:06 +0000 (GMT) From: Michael R Godwin Subject: Re: This Is Not A Love Song On Sat, 29 Jan 2000 overbury@cn.ca wrote: > "Big Leg Emma" - Frank Zappa > "Magdalena" (is that what it's called?) - FZ > ... It's also being released, maybe only through mail-order, sometime soon. Supposedly. It's a great record, and I don't feel guilty about listening to my downloaded copy while waiting to buy the real thing, but if you who only mp3 commercially unavailable stuff should know Skittish has entered a sort of grey area. aaron ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 31 Jan 2000 11:36:14 -0500 (EST) From: Bayard Subject: 23 nov 99 Marc mentions in his review of the secret gig at the mint, 22-nov-99, that Departure Lounge was going to be at Largo the next night, tuesday november 23rd... did this happen and did Robyn show up? ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 31 Jan 2000 11:54:14 -0500 From: overbury@cn.ca Subject: Re: This Is Not A Love Song Date sent: Mon, 31 Jan 2000 15:35:06 +0000 (GMT) From: Michael R Godwin To: overbury@cn.ca Copies to: fegmaniax Subject: Re: This Is Not A Love Song Send reply to: Michael R Godwin > > On Sat, 29 Jan 2000 overbury@cn.ca wrote: > > > > and on the more serious side: > > "Pictures of Lilly" - the Who > > Pictures of Lily is a love song. On a completely different issue, can anyone recommend a foolproof way of getting a tune out of your head? I've had bleeding 'Come Prima' on the brain for what seems like months (aka 'More than ever'). I tried to pretend that the record I really had on the brain was 'The word girl' by Scritti Politti, but I didn't fool myself. I've never bought this 'Come Prima', I don't like it and I'd much rather be humming almost anything else. Still, I suppose it's an improvement on 'You were always on my mind', which was the last brain parasite I had this trouble with. - - Mike "More than ever, more than ever" Godwin ------------------------------ End of fegmaniax-digest V9 #27 ******************************
