So no, I'm not jealous, I'm actually a little offended. But it's not too late for people to read his books. I picked up "The Love Song of J. Edgar Hoover" one time when I was bored at the airport, and was surprised to find that this was one very clever, well-written mystery novel. I can see some more hardcore mystery fans being annoyed by the goofy, digressive humor and the time he spends lovingly drawing the cast of characters, not to mention the time the narrator spends having ironic chats with his cat. Tho to me that is a definite plus. Anyway, moving right along...... 1. I loved "Bringing Out The Dead". It seems people either love or hate this. Anyone here who saw it and just thought it was OK? Anyone here who thought Nic Cage was merely passable (as opposed to "fucking brilliant" or "jeez, he doesn't act, he either stares soulfully out the window or chews the scenery")? Humorous mental image: Dogme 95 types watching it and turning purple with righteous rage. 2. I don't know what the half-22 thing is about either. 3. Chicago Fegmeet. Whenwhere?
