And the senator's wife is a horse? no, arianna has said the clinton marriage is a sham becuz of bill's dick problem. thankfully we didn't elect Michael Huffington (even if it was in favor of Dianne Feinstein) to the senate (which he said he only ran for to avoid having to go back to congress, which bored him). though in fairness arianna is vaguely attractive in a greek cruella de ville sort of way. > James > > PS (fwd) If Milli Vanilli falls down in the woods, does someone else make > a sound? yes, but the sound is generated elsewhere. _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!? Yecchh. I feel exactly the same way. I think this is the WORST songwriting I've heard in a very long time. And I caught the lead fellow from this band for about eight seconds on Mtv and he said "What sets us apart... what we've always been known for is our lyrics. They are intelligent and make you think." Dear LORD! It's so much worse than you have written, though, gnatfriend. I would swallow my pride I would choke on the rind But the lack thereof Would leave me empty inside Wanna wallow in doubt Wanna twist and shout Find nothing but faith in nothing Wanna put my tender Heart in a blender Watch is spin 'round to a beautiful oblivion Rendezvous, then I'm through with you. That tender/blender rhyme is just atrocious, not to mention the sixth grade mopey poet imagery. > "Just say no to Yes" - Joel Hodgson Damn, I love Joel. Yay! OK... I have (and regularly listen to) Too High To Die and Forbidden Places, but what I've heard of No Joke wasn't all that appealling. Am I missing something? Are these two albums exceptional in their catalog? Are they typical while No Joke is exceptional? Direction sought 8-4:30. Well, first of all, ebguy, you still CAN vote, as far as I know. Not that it's democratic. The Glass Hotel of Bayard is, I'm sure, a benevolent dictatorship. He doesn't bow to majority pressures. Personally, I'm all for giving eddie February... in perpetuity. eddie can be Feg of The Month for EVERY February. After all, anyone else would feel sleighted with that twenty-eight day month. But somehow I've gathered that eddie thinks getting less than everyone else is a glorious accomplishment. That's not necessarily an insult. I guess I see why Mark says I'm crabby on the list. Well, I'm a gentle and wonderful human being, you know. The best. Did I mention that I have a fever? I think the Meat Puppets are one of the *very* few established indie bands who signed with a major label and actually *improved* as a result. I wasn't that impressed with Forbidden Places (kinda sterile), but think that No Joke and Too High to Die are quite possibly the band's best two albums ever. I've only seen the Meat Puppets live once (several years ago) -- I really want to see them again. I will, perhaps, give No Joke a second listen (I've really only heard it sitting with headphones in the shop). Forbidden Places was Great, I thought. I guess Sam and Whirlpool were the ones that really got me, but there are a few other certainly enjoyable tracks. I'm a sucker for superfast singing, though. I'll tell you that. If someone buzzes through more than six or seven syllables per second, I'll almost always give it a second or twelfth listen. However, that doesn't mean I'll like it. I'll memorize it, but I won't like it. > Eb, off to see Lambchop tomorrow night! Can't wait! And I have an important > first date to boot! What happend to the relationship with the starlet? Didn't you say you were afraid of telling us who you had this Big Chance to date a while back? I figured you were riding the gravy train of flash-in-the-pan stardom and reaping the benefits of Hollywood parties and shallow conversation. I suppose he's okay in the studio with the lights off, but I really don't want to watch the guy play. Oh. He hasn't found the "solo off" button yet, either. As a music director, I would choose someone who would could deal with sharing the orchestration between players rather than considering them a backing band for "Endless Blues Solo #1." Okay, maybe it's a bit harsh. He's a pretty good player, but he'd be better if he learned what a rest was. Deni alone would be better. Sorry I missed Marcy in SF. Doh!
