You may recall that you left your details with Official Monty PythOnline Fan Club (aka The Spam Club). I am working with Terry and the other Pythons in the video release of their "lost" German programmes -- 'Monty Python's Fliegender Zirkus. These are the two shows recorded in 1971 & 1972 purely for the German market. You can find details at http://www.guerilla.u-net.com/ Apart from a small release in Australia this is the first time the programmes have been released on video. At present the Pythons say there are no plans to release anywhere else (the Pythons know that very poor pirate copies are around, which they and their lawyers are currently taking action to stop). Therefore I will be making these available on the European PAL format and the North American / Japanese NTSC format. Both these programmes are on one video. Along with the video we will be including four photo cards relating to the programmes, which are not be available anywhere else. Even if you are not interested in buying the video I hope you will visit the site, as there is much information about the programmes including a short interview that Michael Palin has given about the programmes and Terry has made 'comments'. There are some very good reviews and one from VIZ magazine which 'confuses' the Python's with The Beatles. Please bookmark the site as I am talking to the Python office about doing a new Python programme, which, if the sales of this video prove successful, could be made early next year. This will made in part via the Internet and involving The Spam Club. I am also hoping to offer multi-format rights to Terry J's film WIND IN THE WILLOWS early in the New Year. It's not like fan-club releases constitute some huge category.... Well, look at the full list. Most of the discs weren't even in the pop/rock genre, and not many were anything like "alternative." Lots and lots of other uber bands were ignored, too. >hmmmm...maybe eb "edited" the list "for our own good." Nope, I posted every album ranking which seemed "relevant." Incidentally, regarding the Portland scene's strong showing on the list (Elliott/Quasi/Spinanes), there's a simpler, less bitter explanation than Aaron's.
