No story telling, no "how ya'll doings?", no nothing. I admit to liking about 2/3rds of "What's the story?", but I wouldn't pay to see them live. -luther ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 21 Feb 1998 13:01:39 -0500 (EST) From: lj lindhurst Subject: just got my 'x-mas party' tape (WARNING: RH CONTENT!) ...Thanks to Kevin Casey (my branch) and everyone else who made this tape tree possible! Tape trees are a wonderful thing, and a wonderful component of fegdom. I especially like getting boots of NEW, unreleased stuff. This one is particularly good in every way. It makes me wish I had some of that nifty recording equipment yous guys are always arguing about. I'm listening to it right now (yeah, I'm giving the afore-mentioned neighbors a break from Oasis, but NOT from wussy British music, heh heh). Has it occurred to anyone else that it kind of sounds like Robyn did some LSD and decided to remake _Time Out of Mind_? I think the older he gets, the more he sounds like Dylan through a kaleidoscope. d'ya know what I mean? l "going to the post office now" j ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 21 Feb 1998 15:10:53 -0500 From: woj Subject: one-liners, mostly also sprach gnat: >>XTC's "Go 2" is, without question, the greatest collection of music ever >>recorded. > >That, of course, was a typo for "English Settlement." This is Thursday night, right? Is this schedule posted on the SXSW website? I haven't checked it in a couple days. I'm lazy. You're guessing that the special guest is Peter Buck, right? I can't help but respect the man for being a multimillionaire and *still* doesn't do anything about his hair. Hee-hee. Anyway. What club are they playing? - -Carole, who will be napping before the show. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 21 Feb 1998 14:46:59 -0700 From: Eb Subject: Re: one-liners, mostly >also sprach gnat: > >>>XTC's "Go 2" is, without question, the greatest collection of music ever >>>recorded. >> >>That, of course, was a typo for "English Settlement." After The Fire did a subsequent English version of Falco's hit.
