Hey all :) So glad to have a day off so I can catch up on my feg-digests. First off...hi to Elizabeth...who I hung out with at the show in Detroit...along with a big hi to Mary and her hubby and baby :) Useless/RH relevant trivia - depending on if you liked *Respect* - One of the women I worked with on "The Mummers' Dance" video for *Loreena McKennitt* is a cello player named **Caroline Lavelle**...she is an amazingly talented woman...plays with *Massive Attack*, *Peter Gabriel*, *Loreena*, and has an album out under her own name...she was a sweetie... And she played cello on *The Yip Song* and *The Wreck Of The Arthur Lee*...she loves Robyn...said he was fairly quiet during the studio sessions...but "a lovely lovely person" The dumbest thing I ever did to see a Robyn show...G-d forbid my mom ever reads this...is to sneak out of the hospital in October 1994...two days before surgery...to see RH at "Lee's Palace" in Toronto...my mom never knew...but Robyn did...so he kept me comfortable backstage and fed me cranberry juice all night then put me in a taxi when the show was over...and ya...he ragged on me a bit but it was worth it to have him 'baby' me... Longest distance travelled to see Robyn ...13 hours on the train to be in New York for the Storefront Hitchcock audience... I must scram and get to answering other emails...but hope ya'll had a great Thanksgiving :) fading back into yesterday before tomorrow comes, Randi ...who has neither turkey nor mail because she lives in Canada :( here is my work sig. file...enjoy... ;} * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Ms. Randi Spiegel Assistant Producer Revolver Films 53 Ontario Street Second Floor Toronto, Ontario, Canada M5A 2V1 Tel: (416) 869-0420 Fax: (416) 869-0568 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 28 Nov 1997 12:43:34 -0700 From: "Basil Exposition" Subject: Chord request fulfilled luther w dudich hat geschrieben: > Uh, I gotta a question or two along the same lines... > What are the lyrics to 'Driving ALoud (radio storm)'? Well, such wasn't always the case. If Robyn had been waiting there in the 19th Century, for example, he would have met the lovely Eliza Doolittle :). > Of course, who am I to assume WHAT you could afford! If charm is currency, > you're sure to be walking arm and arm down the cobbled streets in no time. Well turned phrase, Sir Jay! :) I wanted to comment briefly on the lyric question, because I was slightly piqued by Ross's comment (nothing personal, luv :)). I went outside to smoke a cigarette and calm down and figure out just why I was irritated by it, and during this process thought of "Jewels for Sophia" and "Beautiful Queen", two of the lovelier songs Robyn has written in quite awhile, and "Let's Go thundering" and "I Something You", two of the more charming. This is just to name the ones that stood out in my mind immediately as standout songs that appear to be inspired by Michele, and they are by no means the only examples. I think actually that the first two in particular, aside from the fact that they are lovely, exude the kind of erotic tenderness that is rare outside of a close romantic relationship, and THAT, to me, is a beautiful, very precious, and all too rare quality in the field of rock and roll music, -especially- coming from a male point of view. If this is the relationship's influence on his songwriting, as it obviously is, then I must confess that I have a lot of difficulty seeing it as a bad one. In short, I would like to respectfully, yet very strongly, differ with our esteemed member from Canada on this issue :). Love on ya, Susan ------------------------------ End of fegmaniax-digest V6 #82 ******************************
