In a message dated 97-11-07 02:47:46 EST, you write: << Currently I live in DeKalb, IL about 75 miles west of Chicago where I'm (finally) finishing a M.A. in art history and working at the university. >> Ya hear that, Michael and Sus (hell, Dave, you too)- another Chicago-area Feg!!! Woo hoo! We'll beat those snobs in The Bay with their ever so precious picnic afternoons one of these days! (Too bad Hal split the region... we'd have a coven by now! ) Who am I missing? Welcome, fair Sumiko, to the neighborhood. Next time Ol' Bobby comes to town, you NEED to meet up with us. We're a fine bunch of Midwest snow worshipers who promise to show you a good time! Don't be a stranger. Blinking on and off, Jay P.S. Nick- any chance you'd become an expat AGAIN and move to Chicago? After all, we showed you such an EXCITING evening! Mailing lists were taking up too much of my time... besides, I was getting 3 digests a day at one point, and I couldn't keep up. But now I'm back, and I hope to add more to the conversation than I had previously. My name is Keith Hanlon, I live in Athens, Ohio. I've been into Robyn since I heard Fegmania all those years ago. Saw him on Queen Elvis and Respect tours. My band, Orchestraville, has covered many Robyn songs: the Executioner, Heaven, Birds in Perspex, Queen of Eyes, and Glass. We even have a song about Robyn secretly meeting Syd Barrett in a park to receive new songs, written on microfiche and stuffed inside a pigeon. (We don't name names...) And since I unsubsribed last spring.... my new girlfriend is a Robyn fanatic! Yes, she has every pre-Rhino CD and more.... if she ever gets a modem for her laptop, I'll make sure she joins this little community. A big "hello" to Bayard and Woj, and anyone else I have forgotten! Which reminded me... Are the Seattle Fegs aware that Dan Bern will be playing the Tractor Tavern on November 21? Any other of the Nick-converted interested in attending? Can't wait! And I think the Loud Family will be around some time in late November as well. So keep an eye on that Tractor schedule! I haven't heard any hints or whispers of an RH appearance anywhere around here, though. So who was organizing that shuttle down the West coast to LA? >Cynthia > > ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 07 Nov 1997 23:10:21 -0500 From: biscotti and borscht Subject: hola from new haven greetings again feg-a-roos, well, there are still many boxes to be unpacked, but we're finally more or less settled down in new haven. moving sucks. but the worst of it behind us. now, we just need to figure out how to stuff an apartment's worth of stuff into half an apartment. if we ever make any progress on that front, one of these weekends, we may even have an apartment-warming party and all new england fegs will, of course, be welcome. even non-new england fegs, for that matter. woo hoo! couple quickies: 1) thanks to griffith for keeping tabs on the largo shows. i took care of getting the new about that show on the fegsite tonight. 2) that nick drake tribute show is going to be broadcast on wfuv (90.7 fm) in new york city sometime later this month (or maybe in december -- i forget when exactly). 3) i don't think robyn played at bill clinton's inaugural, eddie. he did play at the whfs inaugural ball though. not the same thing. 4) whomever has the spoken word chain tape, drop me a line. i have a new address which should replace the old one on the list. 5) finally got the new weeping tile album yesterday. one listen so far, so i can no judge it fairly yet. i also got their first release, _eepee_. unfortunately, it's one of those discs which has the right label and the wrong music. in this case, van halen. my life is complete. 6) anybody want to provide me dns for fegmania.org? as bayard mentioned, bret seems to have disappeared. the domain is registered -- i just need to get the ip's listed in ye olde routing tables. and a mx record too. anyone? bueller? woj n.p. mary jane lamond -- suas e! ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 Nov 1997 23:26:02 -0800 (PST) From: "Children's Television Worship" Subject: A northern (of middle portion, really) jinx and Homerama HiYa- Since there is at least two people from the bay area going to the LA show, then it goes to reason that a jinx of sorts can be managed so those who did not go (i.e. Bay area-types) get a show, but (the jinx here) the migratory show-goers will miss it in transit from region to region. Cross your eyes this just might work out. %) In other matters...Homerama. Is anyone *actually* a member. I have receive as I am sure others have, two or three e-mails from jennifer who is in charge of all things Homerama. But, she has not mentioned the dues or rites of passage for membership. She has mentioned a new single out in a week or two, and up coming show in England, most with Bobby his bad self. But, any news on the membership itself?? over, .chris ------------------------------ End of fegmaniax-digest V6 #60 ******************************
