I once watched a video recording of Live Aid c.1984. While watching David Bowie doing his two songs worth I almost fell off my seat. There on bass guitar was Matthew Seligman. Of course, the reference could As a kid I read war comics... Browning is a British make of gun I believe, who made different varieties of guns. So it be anything, but I believe he is refering to a pistol. Also, as a confirmed stupid action film fan (my brain needs rest:), I can add that many people will refer to their gun by the company rather than the type, ie: H&K, Smith & Wesson, etc... There - enough of my silly post. I'm still trying to come up with my favourite simile! tara - Sean ******************************************************************************* Sean Hennessey, President of the Boston Reds, an 'unoffical' Manchester United Supporters' Club url: http://members.tripod.com/~boston_reds/red_army.html email: suggs@tiac.net *Bassist: Slippy Keane* ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 2 Nov 1997 12:39:53 -0800 (PST) From: "Children's Television Worship" Subject: Re: The Great and the Good On Sun, 2 Nov 1997, Matthew Knights wrote: > Have any other Egyptians or SB's played with > the aristocracy of the rock world's Great and the Good ? Seligman's also played with Thomas Dolby and the Thompson Twins. Andy Metcalfe played keyboards in Squeeze in 1987. Seligman and Morris Windsor were the rhythm section on a fair-to-middling Alex Chilton record in 1980. I'll bet there are more such cameos out there somewhere.... Just a correction to this, as I have seen it a few times now: John Moses Browning (1855-1926) - Ogden, Utah. Born to Mormon parents, one of twenty two children, he had quite a few patents for pistols, rifles, and shotguns. Many of his designs are still on production today. He was the first to develop a gas powered automatic firearm and sold designs to Winchester, Remington, Stevens, Colt and many other arms manufacturers, including Belgium Fabrique Nationale. Some of his firearm designs were used by European companies. Regards, Gregory S. To really come up with some good ones I think takes a particular kind of 6th sense, maybe of observation, to expertly place disparate images together. "It rained like a slow divorce" ...for some inexplicable reason this one knocks me out. Can someone remind me what song/cd it's from.
