I thought that the radar album was recorded prior to Can of Bees. Released a single. Would've released an album if it worked out, but it didn't.]) My theory is that "Wang Dang Pig", "The Lonesome Death of Ian Penman", "Alien", "Vegetable Girl" and "I Wanna Appreciate You" are from the radar period, if not album. It's been ages since I posted...ages since I've been home really...been working making music videos here in Toronto...and there must be a lack of good assistant producers and directors out here...'cause I sent off my resume one day in September...(after being grounded for four years due to Crohn's Disease (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) and multiple surgeries)...and suddenly I've worked on a three videos... (Tea Party, Sandbox, Roni Size/Reprazent - for those of you that are interested)...and a few tv commericals in less than two months... Anyway...I wish to address the *Madonna of the Wasps* intro...when I saw Robyn in Detroit...he gave me a cassette of the *Demos for 'QUEEN ELVIS'*...and the version of MOTW with the *intro* is on this tape...so it was _definitely_ a demo version for the album...and as Robyn said to me once...his demos are always better than what ends up on his 'official' releases... I've never seen "Brenda Of The Lightbulb Eyes"...but perhaps the intro to MOTW is the same or similar to the demo version I have on this cassette...which also has "Ruling Class" on it and the best version of "Veins Of The Queen" I've ever heard... (Not as bad as it did w/ the Sex Pistols [financially, at least]) General concensus of the list is that the A&M albums are ok, but not as good as, say, anything else Robyn has done. Their track selection appears to be neither the "We'll give you the best stuff" nor a Rhino-style "We'll give you everything", but a "We hope that one of these songs becomes a huge hit despite the fact that we aren't really promoting it". And the 1964-style "12 tracks per album, no matter how what" wasn't a good idea either. The songs themselves usually aren't bad, but all of the albums have no-brainer style "Why didn't you put this on it?" songs... (And I would have *much* rather had "Surgery" on QE.
