They were gradually broken out via college radio as if Vernon Yard was an indie label, so you're essentially correct, Joanie. When their first album did respectably they moved to Virgin proper, and now they contribute to Batman soundtracks. This year really hasn't been all that great in terms of new records. I sort of liked the new Gene album, and the new Radiohead album is quite interesting, though spotty. Given the time required for these interests and the time required for each members respective families (Andy and Morris are both married with children I think) there just was not enough time to keep and manage 'the band'. Robyn did not rule out working with Morris or Andy in the future but he also did not see there being another 'egyptians' again. (oh no, hope this doesn't start another government argument) Speaking of '90's music, a few weeks back I bought Sublime's _40 oz. to Freedom_ and their newest album (self-titled). It's catchy, it's funny, and you can tell that they're having a great time just playing music together. So the QUESTION IS, they have a song on _40 oz. to Freedom_ called "Smoke Two Joints". It is credited as being written by a c.kay/m.kay, and a friend of mine *swears* he has heard another version of it. Does anyone know anything about this? Or am I missing an obvious connection?
