A favorite pastime of radio DJs (at least at this station) is album cover graffiti. Your mention of the supertramp album reminds me of one of my favorites around here...this was a group effort, written one blurb at a time over the course of a couple of weeks on the back cover, where the band is sitting at the counter and the waitress is pouring coffee for them [and you have to be familiar with the cover of "Flat as a Pancake" by Head East, which features a group shot in a similar looking coffee shop] Waitress: You boys ever hear of a band called "Head East"? They was in here last week. Band member: Shut up and pour, bitch. Waitress (thought bubble): They was nicer, too Some day I want to publish a book of album cover graffiti. There are some hilarious ones around here. Hey, here's an idea (warning: RH content approaching)...the Robyn Hitchcock cover art caption contest! Pick a picture from any Robyn Hitchcock album (front, back, inner sleeve or CD booklet--anywhere on the package) and come up with a clever caption. Maybe someone could scan some of the funnier ones and put them on the web site. -russ ------------------------------ From: jlgr@concentric.net Date: Fri, 25 Apr 1997 14:53:07 -0400 (EDT) Subject: slippin' out hey fegs, I'm sad to say that any day now my e-mail subscription is gonna be terminated. Thus, there were these Disneyland flyers ALL over campus, featuring a photo of Donald Duck. At the station, someone cut out four Donald heads from the flyers and pasted them over the band members' faces on the cover of Oh No! It's Devo. I think that was my favorite, at least that I still recall. :) Eb ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The End of this Fegmaniax Digest. *sob* .
